The 76-year-old monarch is carrying on with a "business as usual" attitude when it comes to his royal duties, and as Queen Camilla told reporters last week (via the Sun), work "keeps him going." After finishing their state visit to Italy on April 10, The King and Queen returned to the U.K., but on Friday, April 11, the Duchess of Edinburgh stood in for her brother-in-law at a special event.

Duchess Sophie—who is married to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's youngest son, Prince Edward—represented The King during the Sovereign’s Parade at Sandhurst Royal Military Academy, where both Prince Harry and Prince William went through their military training.

Sandhurst graduate Prince William has stepped in for his father—and previously, for Queen Elizabeth—on several occasions through the years at the thrice-annual event. But this time, the Duchess of Edinburgh inspected troops ahead of the parade, filling in for The King.

Although Sophie has attended the event on two prior occasions, it's more common for William to step in for his father. However, People noted that her presence this year might have been for a very special reason. The April 11 parade "featured the school’s first all-female Banner Party," marking a historic moment for the military school.

In terms of style, the Duchess of Edinburgh channeled Princess Kate in a periwinkle coat dress by Emilia Wickstead, adding a coordinating blue hat by Jane Taylor and pale blue Prada heels.

As for The King's schedule, Queen Camilla was asked by journalists if he had any intentions of scaling back his workload these days. Per the Sun, she replied, "No, I think he loves his work and it keeps him going. And I think it's wonderful, you know, if you've been ill and you are recovering, you're getting better and now he wants to do more and more and more."

However, she quipped that was also "the problem" when it came to her workaholic husband.

<![CDATA[ Princess Kate Opens Up About "Spiritual" and "Very Intense" Feelings in Surprise New Video ]]> The Princess of Wales is getting back to nature. On Monday, April 14, Princess Kate starred in a surprise new video talking about the importance of spending time outdoors—and now that she's in remission from cancer, the royal said she finds being in the natural world a "very intense emotional reconnection."

The princess, who serves as joint president of U.K. Scouts, and its chief scout, Dwayne Fields, appeared in a short film discussing the importance of the natural world. The duo shared their thoughts on how getting outdoors helps to support health and wellbeing, with the clip filmed in England's Lake District last month.

Dressed in a $755 tan turtleneck by Emilia Wickstead, an old favorite green tweed cap and the Bella Hoskyns bomber jacket she wore in her controversial 2024 Mother's Day photo, Princess Kate took a walk near the shores of Lake Windermere with Fields in the film. They were joined by a group of Scouts between the ages of 10 and 15 who are working on their naturalist badge.

During the video, the Princess of Wales said, "I find it a very spiritual and very intense emotional reconnection I suppose, these environments. Not everyone has that same relationship perhaps with nature, but it is so therefore meaningful for me as a place to balance and find a sort of sense of peace and reconnection in what is otherwise a very busy world.”

Kneeling down in the grass to help explain a map to the kids, the princess elaborated on how Scouting is still relevant "despite how different the modern day world is now." Fields added that having the future queen as the organization's president is "great for the Scout movement."

The Princess of Wales has previously opened up about how nature has helped her through her cancer battle, telling patients at the Royal Marsden Hospital how sunlight played a role in her recovery. "I really felt like I needed to get the sun. You need loads of water and loads of sunlight," she said, as reported by the Daily Mail in January.

To mark World Cancer Day on Feb. 3, the princess shared a photo of herself posing in the woods that was snapped by 6-year-old Prince Louis. "A royal aide emphasized that spending time in nature has been extremely important to The Princess over the past year as she underwent her own cancer journey," journalist Rebecca English posted on Instagram at the time.

Monday marks the first time the princess has been seen since St. Patrick's Day, when Kate attended the annual Irish Guards parade. While The King and Queen are confirmed to attend Easter Sunday services at St. George's Chapel in Windsor, the palace have not yet announced if the Prince and Princess of Wales will join the family.

<![CDATA[ Queen Camilla Uses a "Signal" from Queen Elizabeth's Playbook to Get King Charles to Shut Up When He "Talks For Too Long" ]]> Queen Elizabeth couldn't get enough of her luxurious Launer handbags, but she didn't just use them as fashion statements. The late monarch was known to use her trusty bags to send secret messages to her entourage, like when she was ready to move on to a new conversation or if she wanted to leave an event. But it turns out Queen Camilla has borrowed one of her mother-in-law's tricks to keep King Charles in line—although her handbag moves aren't quite as subtle.

Speaking on the Daily Mail's "Palace Confidential" show, royal author Robert Hardman shared Camilla's handy tactic for getting The King to "move on" during busy royal events.

Sharing that King Charles "does love a chat," Hardman said that he often makes his staff "nervous" for talking "too long to people in a crowd," especially during royal tours. The royal commentator continued that when "everyone's looking at their watches, and the entourage, they're getting more and more nervous and no one quite wants to go up and go 'Sir, can you get a move on,' they'll whisper to The Queen."

This is when Camilla pulls a move out of Queen Elizabeth's book. "The Queen has this very sweet thing, she'll just gently nudge him in the small of his back with the corner of her handbag, and it's kind of the symbol, the signal, of 'Come on, let's get a move on,'" Hardman explained.

It's no surprise that The King's staff rely on Camilla to keep Charles on schedule, as she's said to be the only person who he'll listen to when it comes to a number of matters, including his cancer battle. However, The Queen recently told reporters that despite her best efforts, she can't get her husband to relax.

When asked if her husband will be slowing down anytime soon, she said (via the Sun), "No, I think he loves his work and it keeps him going. And I think it's wonderful, you know, if you've been ill and you are recovering, you're getting better and now he wants to do more and more and more. That's the problem."

As for Queen Camilla's impact on royal tours, Hardman added, "She calls him 'the boss,' there is sort of an understanding, he's in charge, he is The King, but at the same time, these tours don't go nearly as well if she's not around. It's different."

<![CDATA[ Why King Charles Abdicating Would Cause a "Crisis" for Prince William and the Royal Family ]]> After King Charles revealed his cancer diagnosis, Prince William started taking on more responsibility on behalf of the Royal Family. There have even been rumors that Prince William and Princess Kate have begun preparing for their future roles as king and queen. But according to one royal expert, if King Charles did decide to abdicate the throne amid his ongoing cancer treatment, the Royal Family would face a huge "crisis."

Speaking to Fox News, royal expert Hilary Fordwich explained, "Prince William has been assuming more responsibilities and there have been preparations for more transitions of responsibility." Fordwich continued, "Both Prince William and Princess Catherine have been readying to assume leadership roles with an accelerated schedule of preparation for their future positions as king and queen. But most certainly, they are not in any way actively seeking an immediate ascension."

As for why no-one is in a rush to see King Charles abdicate the throne, Fordwich told the outlet, "The entire family...are more focused on the best interests of the monarchy's stability and continuity, hence all being content with the gradual transition rather than any immediate decisions. The only definite thing is that an abdication would be a significant departure from all tradition."

It's recently been reported that King Charles refuses to "slow down," despite being hospitalized during his ongoing cancer treatment. As a result, an abdication seems extremely unlikely at present.

Fordwich noted that Edward VIII's decision to abdicate in order to marry Wallis Simpson caused "a constitutional crisis," something King Charles won't want to repeat. "Given his mother's values, King Charles is most likely to do all he can to continue serving, dedicating himself to duty," Fordwich told the outlet.

British broadcaster Jonathan Sacerdoti also spoke with Fox News, saying, "It seems unlikely that The King will want to step back from his duties any more than is strictly necessary." He continued, "Though he had to cancel some engagements recently, it caused very minimal disruption to his otherwise busy schedule. He has always been clear that his work ethic compels him to be as busy as possible."

<![CDATA[ James Middleton Reveals Middleton Family "Prerequisite" Prince William Met Before Marrying Kate ]]> Prince William is famously close to his in-laws, the Middletons, with royal sources noting on numerous occasions how Carole, Michael, Pippa and James serve as an example of a "normal" family for the prince. As Princess Kate's brother James noted, he gets along famously with the Prince of Wales—and he passed one very important test as Kate's royal boyfriend.

As a dog breeder and pet food company founder with a passion for country life, James is known for his love of animals, especially dogs. The youngest Middleton sibling credits his late dog Ella with saving his life, writing a memoir about his experience with depression and how Ella even helped him meet his wife, Alizée Thevenet.

In a recent interview with Hello!, James said sisters Kate and Pippa are "passionate" about their own dogs, but he's "on another scale of passionate." Both Pippa's dog, Rafa, and Kate's dog, Orla, are cocker spaniels like Ella, with Prince William and Princess Kate having welcomed Orla into the family shortly before their beloved dog Lupo's 2020 death.

Due to their family's obsession with cocker spaniels, James was asked by Hello! if it was "a prerequisite" for the future King "to like dogs before he could join the Middleton family."

It seems James approved from the start, with the Meet Ella author replying, "He had a long love of dogs. He had a very strong relationship with a black lab called Wigeon growing up, so he knew the powers of what dogs can do."

When it comes to his family, James praised their tight-knit circle. "We're a close family, and we’re fortunate in that we see lots of each other. My parents play a good role in getting us all together in that respect."

And that means dogs included. James said his sisters and brothers-in-law love sharing in family moments with their cocker spaniels. "Wherever they go, they bring the dogs with them, so I see lots of them, which is lovely," he said.

"We've been brought up knowing that you can't take family for granted," James added. "You don't get to choose them, as you can choose your friends. But I don't think you can give up on your family like you can sometimes with friends."

<![CDATA[ The Ingenious "Hack" Kate Middleton Uses to Avoid Answering Questions, and Why She Has to Be "So Careful" ]]> Kate Middleton and Prince William are consummate professionals when it comes to speaking with strangers. As the Prince and Princess of Wales attend a multitude of royal engagements every year, they've quickly become accustomed to navigating awkward situations. And according to one Hollywood actor, Princess Kate is adept at deflecting personal questions.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, actor Rami Malek opened up about meeting the Prince and Princess of Wales at the BAFTAs in 2019. "They work so hard to get to know everybody," Malek told the host. "Who's done whatever film they've done, their past films, and you can see they've done their homework."

Discussing his awkward encounter with Kate, Malek explained, "I just looked at Princess Kate at one point, and I said, 'This must be exhausting.' And she said, 'Why?'" Malek responded, saying, "You just had a baby, right?" According to the actor, Kate seemed to be "taken aback" by the personal nature of his comment. Instead of answering, she allegedly responded by asking Malek, "How are you doing?"

Rather than answering Princess Kate's question, Malek asked, "No, how are you?" Describing the moment, Malek told Kimmel, "And in the most regal, elegant way, she gave me a look."

When Princess Kate refused to engage with Malek's personal question, the Bohemian Rhapsody actor appeared to dig himself even deeper with some small talk. "The funniest thing about that is, I said, 'You know, if you ever need time off, I'm backup for you,'" Malek explained. "She's like, 'What do you mean?' I said, 'You guys go out, have a good time.'"

After completing cancer treatment, Princess Kate returned to the spotlight with aplomb in 2025. "Even though the palace is still advising that the princess is by no means returning to full-time royal duties yet, we have seen a surprising amount of her so far this year," former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror. She continued, "[Princess Kate] is most certainly the star of the royal show."

<![CDATA[ Royal Expert Explains Why Prince George Is Seen Publicly More Often Than Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis ]]> Prince William and Kate Middleton's children sometimes make appearances at official royal events. However, just last week, Prince George traveled to Paris with Prince William to watch his favorite soccer team play—Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis weren't in attendance. According to one royal expert, there's a simple reason why Prince George is seen more often than his younger siblings.

Speaking to GB News, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams explained, "It is due to age and the fact it is a balance." He continued, "As [Charlotte and Louis] get older, they will be seen at more events."

As for Prince George's boys' trip to Paris with Prince William, Fitzwilliams explained, "Equally, George is obviously very keen [on football] and there is that aspect to it...You want to take someone who is really going to enjoy it and look as if they are enjoying it."

Fitzwilliams also suggested that Prince William's decision to take his eldest son to Paris was "very good for George." The royal expert explained, "It is important for the royal image that you have this balance between showing who you are and then certain events that are more formal."

According to Fitzwilliams, the Prince of Wales's boys' trip to Paris is an example of how William's parenting separates him from his father. "Charles did not project the sort of exuberance that William is passing on to George," Fitzwilliams noted. "This is a new persona within the Royal Family, as Charles is of a different temperament."

The royal commentator continued, "That is reflected in the sports you like, but it does take the royal image to a far more informal place, which I think is very good...An enthusiasm for a sport that is so popular does help build a connection."

<![CDATA[ Former Royal Butler Shares "Sweet" Reason Why Working With King Charles and Queen Camilla on Easter Was a "Disaster" ]]> Working for The King and Queen isn't always easy, especially over holidays when staff often have to give up their own celebrations with family. Although King Charles has a reputation for being quite particular when it comes to his daily rituals, he also makes sure to show his appreciation for the people who keep the royal households running. Former royal butler Grant Harrold has recalled some of the "sweet" gestures made by the royals when he spent his first Easter with The King and Queen, who used to make the trip up to Scotland for the occasion.

Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, Harrold—who worked for the pair between 2004 and 2011—revealed that even though they're kept busy over Easter, The King's staff get treated to plenty of candy.

"Easter is interesting, from my experiences, because The King used to go up to Scotland for his Easter break, and I used to go up with him, and we’ve seen he’s now in Balmoral with Camilla," the former butler recalled. "That's quite a traditional thing, going up to Scotland. It marks the beginning of a busy time for the royals, as the social season starts in March and runs right through up until Christmas time."

Harrold said working over Easter "was great," because he "was given Easter eggs by The King and Queen." However, the former butler said it came with one downside, adding, "it was a disaster for my weight."

He continued that Charles and Camilla, "absolutely used to give me Easter gifts," sharing, "I remember one year the King actually wrote me a little letter and he thanked me for spending my Easter with them, it was my first Easter with them, and he put Cadbury's mini eggs in the envelopes, so when I opened the envelope, all those sweets fell out."

Harrold, who called the gesture, "so sweet," also shared what he gifted the now-monarch for the holiday. "I gave him a little metal tin, when you opened it, there was a little wind up chicken that he wound up and had it run across the table between him and The Queen. It was quite sweet, very cute."

As for the royals' 2025 celebrations, King Charles and Queen Camilla won't be enjoying quiet time in Scotland. Their Majesties are confirmed to be attending Easter Sunday church service at St. George's Chapel in Windsor. Although it's unclear if the Prince and Princess of Wales are attending with their children, the palace noted that The King and Queen will be "accompanied by members of the Royal Family."

<![CDATA[ Sézane, Zara and Reformation Take the Lead in Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s F1 Grand Prix Fashion ]]> Formula One might be known for its high-speed thrills and roaring engines, but Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie quietly stole the style spotlight at this year's F1 Grand Prix in Bahrain. The royal sisters made a surprise appearance at the event on Sunday, April 13, joining their cousins Zara Tindall and Peter Philips for some trackside fashion moments—and both showcased some surprisingly affordable high street finds.

Princess Eugenie turned to her go-to maxi dress and white sneaker combo, looking effortlessly chic in a forest green style from Reformation with LØCI trainers. Straw and jute bags are popping up everywhere this season, and Eugenie stayed on trend with a woven style by French brand Muuñ, adding white Gentle Monster sunglasses.

Meanwhile, big sis Beatrice—who coordinated with Princess Eugenie in a patterned green Sézane maxi dress— took a different spin on footwear, wearing a pair of gold Zara T-strap flats that retailed for just £30 at the time. While the shoes are no longer available, never fear: L.K. Bennett makes a nearly identical style.

Second-time new mom Beatrice, who was joined by husband Edoardo "Edo" Mapelli Mozzi, added a new pair of Ray-Bans to her outfit and toted a camel-colored crossbody by accessible luxury brand Divlos.

Beatrice and Edo welcomed a baby daughter named Athena in January, and the parents looked relaxed during their child-free day out. The duo was pictured chatting with Princess Anne's son and daughter (and Beatrice's cousins), Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, along with Zara's husband, Mike.

As for her outfit, Princess Beatrice took a style cue from another royal cousin's wife, Princess Kate. The Princess of Wales has been a longtime fan of Sézane's breezy French girl styles, and Beatrice's high-necked dress wouldn't look out of place on Kate.

This isn't the first time Bea has channeled the Princess of Wales; in March, she wore a shimmering white Self-Portrait dress for her first post-baby appearance, wearing a bow-trimmed dress that's similar to looks Kate has worn from the brand.

<![CDATA[ The Alleged "Olive Branch" Prince Harry Offered to Kate Middleton and Prince William During U.K. Visit ]]> Prince Harry recently returned to the U.K. to attend appeal hearings in a court case regarding the removal of his security detail. During the Duke of Sussex's visit to London, he allegedly offered an "olive branch" to his brother, Prince William, and sister-in-law Kate Middleton.

As reported by the Express, Prince Harry stayed at Coworth Park hotel in Ascot during his U.K. visit. The location of Harry's hotel is reportedly relevant, as it's only "a short drive from William and Kate's residence Adelaide Cottage" in Windsor, the outlet reported. Importantly, Prince Harry and Prince William also stayed in the five-star hotel the night prior to the Duke of Sussex's royal wedding to Meghan Markle.

However, Prince Harry allegedly didn't spend any time with the Royal Family during his return to England. "Harry did not meet up with the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, or see his father King Charles before his state visit to Italy with Camilla," the Express reported. According to the outlet, the Duke of Sussex was seen spending time "with former school and Army friends."

The Express spoke with "close business friends" of the duke, who claimed that [Prince Harry's] "accommodation decision, which was relayed to Wills and Kate through security services, was seen as a potential olive branch to make peace after so many years estranged."

An insider told the outlet, "Harry really is keen to try to salvage some kind of relationship or even reopen dialogue." The source continued, "And some of us saw Harry['s hotel] being so close to his brother['s home] as a gesture of saying, 'Hey I am here, close by...what about us trying to work things out?'"

The source also told the outlet that Prince Harry's friends reportedly believe "he wants to somehow make peace and return to talking terms" with the Royal Family.

<![CDATA[ Body Language Experts Reveal How Kylie Jenner Is Doing the "Heavy Lifting" in Timothée Chalamet Romance ]]> Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet fans were delighted to witness the couple attending Coachella together. As well as spending time with Kylie's sister, Kendall Jenner, the pair were seen exhibiting PDA and enjoying Charli XCX's performance. But according to body language experts, the famous couple allegedly aren't on the same page about their relationship, judging by their behavior at the festival.

Celebrity body language expert Inbaal Honigman analyzed Jenner and Chalamet's behavior at Coachella on behalf of Casino.ca. According to Honigman, "Kylie might like Timothée more than he likes her. When they're filmed dancing and embracing together, it is Kylie who turns around towards her man, bestowing on him a loving kiss, embracing him and kissing his lips, whereas he then gives her a little peck on the cheekbone—affectionate, but not as emotionally invested."

As for the couple's behavior during Charli XCX's set, Honigman believes the pair couldn't be more different from one another. "He's clapping absent-mindedly, just having fun, whereas her hands are rubbing one another, tense," the expert explains. "Timothée isn't overthinking, but Kylie is."

Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet are reportedly in love

Honigman also studied Jenner and Chalamet's lips in depth, revealing that they "tell two completely different stories." "Timothée's tongue is at the side of his mouth, showing that he's thinking playful thoughts," the body language expert explains. "Kylie's mouth, on the other hand, portrays something different; she licks her lips and stretches them 'til they disappear, showing that she's a bit tense."

The celebrity body language expert continues, "Bouncing to Charli XCX, Kylie's face is full of joy; she tries to convey happiness, but there's a caveat. Kylie strokes her hair away from her face with two full hands...Hair play means that she wants people to like her."

Speaking to the Daily Mail, body language expert Judi James seemingly confirmed Honigman's analysis of Chalamet and Jenner. "Kylie looks like a focused and insistent lover who knows what she wants and expects and how it should look when it comes to PDAs, while Timothée looks easy-going and compliant in terms of not instigating but often being the first to break away," James told the outlet.

The body language expert also noted that Chalamet and Jenner's appearance at Coachella included "several sensual poses that suggest intimacy and affection." James continued, "But when some of those moments are broken down it looks like Kylie doing all the heavy lifting while Timothée appears out of sync and politely less inclined to act seductive or seduced."

<![CDATA[ We Taste-Tested Meghan Markle’s As Ever Jam, Honey and Flower Sprinkles—One Word Kept Coming Up ]]> Meghan Markle launched her long-awaited lifestyle brand As ever on April 2, with the collection of eight products selling out in less than an hour. From her often-discussed jam to tea, honey, flower sprinkles and baking mixes, the first drop from As ever seemed to be a swift success for the Duchess of Sussex. Now that shipments have hit mailboxes, I set out to see what customers really think about the products.

I was lucky to receive one of the beautiful wooden boxes full of products that As ever sent during launch week, but I also placed my own order on April 2. Having tried everything except the brand's limited-edition honey, I can confidently say Meghan's kitchen treats are worth the price. The shortbread cookies with flower sprinkles were a huge hit in my house, and if it wasn't part of a one-time drop, I'd buy the soothing lemon ginger tea on the regular. And the raspberry spread? Next-level delicious on top of some vanilla ice cream.

But what do other women think?

"I have tried the jam, honey, and tea," Lindsey W. from Texas tells Marie Claire. "I could honestly drink the jam straight from the glass jar. I haven't tasted every preserve available, so I can't claim it's the best, but it is pretty fantastic."

Lindsey continues that As ever's honey "is incredibly luxurious with the honeycomb included," noting that she's "never had honey with honeycomb in the jar, making it feel like an elevated experience."

Amelia N. echoes the sentiment, noting she was "impressed" by the "elevated" lemon ginger tea and raspberry spread. "Once steeped, the aroma is wonderfully refreshing, and the flavor has a surprising kick that I absolutely loved."

Amy H. from Arkansas, who purchased the honey, crepe mix and raspberry spread, says the spread is "an awesome middle ground between sweet and tart." Even though she admits she'd "never made crepes before," Amy says the process "was easy and delicious," adding, "It really made me feel like I knew what I'm doing!"

Another customer, Sara E., shares that she loved the raspberry spread so much that "it was gone in one day!" The Michigan resident continues, "I wish it was a tad more tart, but definitely one of the better preserves I've had." However, Sara notes, "I do wish the container was bigger," a point which I agree on. At just 7.6 ounces, the raspberry spread does run out quickly, making it on the pricier side for its small size. However, at $14 (or $9 without the keepsake packaging), the product is certainly not as expensive as prestige pantry brands like Flamingo Estate—and the flavor, IMO, is certainly worth the price.

Magen K. from Mississippi tells Marie Claire she purchased the flower sprinkles and raspberry spread and baked her own treat to use for the toppings. "I ended up making mixed berry muffins and added the jam and flowers on top," she says. "Edible flowers are cute and a pinch goes a long way."

Another flower sprinkle fan is Meredith C. "I told myself I wasn't going to get the flower sprinkles. Naturally I purchased the flower sprinkles," the Colorado resident shares. Meredith says she looked to the Duchess of Sussex's Netflix series With Love, Meghan for ideas.

"I'm not too proud to say I was heavily influenced by the various ways she used them on her show, With Love, Meghan," she shares, adding, "The container smells like the fragrant garden I do not have the green thumb for. "

In terms of packaging, many of the customers I spoke with praised the overall unboxing experience—and you guessed it, they thought it was "elevated." Lindsey W. says, "I love all the attention to detail. The tea and the cookies both have a little note on them explaining how to enjoy them and how they will contribute to your day. 'Elevated" is what keeps coming to mind."

Lindsey K. from Arizona says she "gasped upon seeing the 'handle with care' label in Meghan’s calligraphy" and "just knew she thought through every single detail of her customer's experience."

As for future improvements, multiple women mentioned to me that the purchasing process was slightly chaotic. "Meghan had the girls fighting over preserves! I felt like I was getting my Cowboy Carter tickets," Lindsey W. says, adding, "At one point the honey got snatched from my cart."

Numerous customers say they hope As ever will announce a specific launch time for future seasonal drops. However, Magen notes, "I do fear the website will crash." Also, as Lindsey W. points out, the surprise 9 a.m. EST launch meant many people on the West Coast "were not awake yet."

Luckily, Lindsey K.'s husband woke her up at 6:30 a.m. and scored major brownie points when he was able to snag one "coveted" item. "I frantically added everything available into my cart and held my breath under receiving the ‘order placed’ email," she says. "While the keepsake jam was not available for me, I heard the ding of a purchase on the other side of the bed and saw his huge smile that he got my most coveted item from me!"

<![CDATA[ The Unexpected Suggestion Princess Anne Gave Son-in-Law Mike Tindall Before He Married Her Daughter Zara ]]> Mike Tindall seems to have become an integral part of the Royal Family since marrying Princess Anne's daughter, Zara Tindall, on July 30, 2011. However, Princess Anne reportedly made a somewhat unexpected request ahead of Mike's wedding to Zara.

Prior to marrying a royal, Mike was a celebrated rugby player, who played internationally for the England team for 12 years. Known to be a dangerous sport, Mike broke his nose on numerous occasions throughout his rugby career, and he had previously broken it as a child, too.

During a 2011 appearance on TV show A League of Their Own, Mike revealed (via the Daily Mail), "Princess Anne asked me if I'd have the surgery." According to the rugby player, the Princess Royal even offered to pay for Mike to have a rhinoplasty ahead of his wedding. However, the decorated sportsperson declined his mother-in-law's suggestion, believing his nose would likely get broken again the very same year.

Expanding on his comments, Mike told the Radio Times in November 2011 (via the Daily Mail), "It was a light-hearted, jokey comment...It wasn't a big deal, and look at my nose—can you blame her?"

Eventually, it was necessary for Mike to undergo a rhinoplasty, but rather than being for aesthetic purposes, the former rugby player started finding it difficult to breathe. "My actual words to the surgeon were, 'I just want you to clear my airways and the less you straighten it the better,'" he shared with the Daily Telegraph in 2018. He continued, "I loved my nose...I didn't really want to change it but it got to the point where I couldn't breathe properly." Mike explained, "I couldn't smell properly, my sinuses were blocked, I was getting so many headaches and it was affecting my sleep."

<![CDATA[ Lip Reader Reveals the "Disapproving" Comment Queen Elizabeth Allegedly Made During Kate Middleton and Prince William's Wedding ]]> Queen Elizabeth II attended a plethora of royal weddings throughout her time as monarch, including Kate Middleton and Prince William's fairytale nuptials. The Prince and Princess of Wales tied the knot on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London. But according to a lip reader, the late Queen did make one seemingly "disapproving" comment on the couple's big day.

As reported by CBS News (via the Daily Mail), Deaf forensic lip reader Tina Lannin was able to decipher some of the private conversation the Royal Family had on Kate and William's wedding day. After the ceremony at Westminster Abbey, Queen Elizabeth reportedly said, "I wanted them to take the smaller carriage." According to Lannin, Queen Camilla responded by saying, "It all went very well."

William and Kate rode in the 1902 State Landau royal carriage, which was also used by Princess Diana and King Charles on their wedding day on July 29, 1981.

Lannin also noted that, at one point, Queen Elizabeth turned to her husband, Prince Philip, and said of the wedding, "It was excellent."

Royal biographer Andrew Morton discussed the late Queen's real feelings about Kate and William's union in his book The Queen: Her Life.

"The Queen was positively playful on the day of her grandson's nuptials, 'practically skipping' according to one observer, absolutely thrilled at the way the public had reacted to the royal newlyweds," Morton wrote (via the Mirror). He continued, "She had a sense that the future of the Royal Family, her family, was now secure. The monarchy was once again held in admiration and affection by the masses."

Whether or not Queen Elizabeth's comment about Kate and William's carriage choice was truly negative remains unclear. If Morton's words are to be believed, the late Queen was incredibly proud of the Prince and Princess of Wales and the delightful reception they received.

<![CDATA[ Palace Employees Reveal They've "All Tried" to Get King Charles to "Slow Down" Amid Cancer Treatment ]]> King Charles was recently hospitalized due to side effects caused by his ongoing cancer treatment, but don't expect the monarch to slow down any time soon. Despite it being reported that there is only one person King Charles will listen to regarding his health—his wife Queen Camilla—it appears as though The King's spouse has her limitations. According to Buckingham Palace sources, everyone from Charles's royal aides to wife Camilla has tried to influence the monarch's schedule, and they've all been unsuccessful so far.

When asked whether King Charles had been officially advised to scale back on his workload, a senior palace official told The Sun, "We've all tried! But as people will have seen, The King enjoys his work."

Queen Camilla weighed in on her husband's fast-paced lifestyle, telling reporters (via The Sun), "No, I think he loves his work and it keeps him going." She continued, "And I think it's wonderful, you know, if you've been ill and you are recovering, you're getting better and now he wants to do more and more and more. That's the problem."

Earlier this month, royal commentator Phil Dampier appeared on an episode of The Sun's "Royal Exclusive" show, and suggested that The King needs to cut back on his "ridiculous" schedule. "Camilla is forever telling him to slow down," Dampier explained. "She'd like him to pace himself. She'd like him to take it easy, but he's just got this work ethic."

Dampier also shared that King Charles was known for "working late into the night and literally falling asleep at his desk." According to the royal expert, The King "likes being busy," but it seems as though he "needs to curtail that sort of ridiculous workload."

<![CDATA[ The Special Gift Princess Lilibet Received From "Papa" Prince Harry in Meghan Markle's Latest Instagram Post ]]> Prince Harry recently returned to the U.K., where he attended appeal hearings in court regarding the removal of his security detail. After leaving London, the Duke of Sussex visited the Ukraine, where he was given a special gift to share with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie.

In an adorable Instagram Story video shared by Duchess Meghan, Princess Lilibet was shown dividing up a special cake, while her dad Prince Harry's voice could be heard in the background. "A special gift 'papa brought back from Ukraine,'" the caption explained.

The Duchess of Sussex also shared two photos on her Instagram Stories, the first of which showed Prince Harry receiving the gift in the Ukraine, captioned, "A gift for our family." The second photo showed two of the women who baked the gift, with the caption, "Made with love."

Yulia Svyrydenko, the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, shared Meghan's message on X, with the caption, "The whole team is just crying, because a pastry made by grandmothers from Sumy region made from flour from demined fields is now on the table of Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and their family. And next to it is a pysanka from Oksana Tsybukh in memory of Ira."

In a follow-up message, Svyrydenko wrote, "Your Royal Highness, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for everything that your family is doing for Ukraine, and for helping us draw the world's attention to humanitarian demining in Ukraine. Demining will allow millions of displaced Ukrainians to return home, and allow thousands of children to go to school without fear. This means so very much to all of us!"

The message continued, "A remarkable group of women who live in the border region of Sumy, an area affected by landmines, have prepared this Easter bread for you and your family. Today, they, along with all of us, are deeply moved, knowing that this symbolic offering—Easter bread, made from flour harvested from demined fields—will be on your table. Thank you, from all Ukrainians, for your kindness and good-heartedness!"

<![CDATA[ How Kate Middleton Is Influencing Son Prince George's Fashion Choices, Starting With One of Her Favorite Brands ]]> Prince George reportedly "insists on dressing" just like his dad, Prince William. However, George's mom, Kate Middleton, is seemingly having quite an influence on the future king, too.

While George has regularly been called Prince William's "mini-me," Princess Kate appears to be helping her eldest son with his style. During an appearance at a soccer game alongside Prince William on April 9, Prince George wore a stylish navy blazer from Reiss, via Hello! magazine. The Princess of Wales has worn Reiss clothing numerous times, incorporating the brand's chic blazers and rewearable dresses into her wardrobe. As a result, George's Reiss blazer doesn't seem like an accident, but a very purposeful decision to cultivate the young prince's style with brands his parents trust.

Princess Kate's style is continually praised, with items the royal has worn regularly selling out. It seems entirely possible that George could have the very same effect on the general public in the not-too-distant future.

William and George, who are both Aston Villa FC fans, were photographed in Paris on April 9, during the UEFA Champions League. The pair were joined by William's friend Thomas van Straubenzee at Parc des Princes stadium to watch Paris Saint-Germain play against Aston Villa.

Prince William gave an unexpected interview to TNT Sports regarding the game, which was shared in an Instagram Reel. Discussing his attendance in Paris, William explained, "Well I've got my son here as well, I'm on best behavior." The Prince of Wales also shared his hope that Aston Villa may succeed in winning the Champions League for the first time in 43 years. "I want George to experience a night out away from home in a big European competition," the royal explained. "I hope it's not 43 years before the next time it happens. I think those memories are really important to create."

<![CDATA[ Royal Expert Shares Why King Charles Had to Be "Very Careful" and "Couldn't" Meet Prince Harry During U.K. Visit ]]> On April 9, Prince Harry attended the final day of hearings in the appeal regarding a U.K. court's decision to remove his taxpayer-funded security. According to a royal expert, King Charles didn't meet with his youngest son, Prince Harry, for a very important reason.

Prince Harry's lawyer recently shared that the Duke of Sussex felt "forced to step back" from royal life because of the removal of his security team. Speaking to the Daily Mail's "Palace Confidential" show, royal biographer Robert Hardman opened up about King Charles's decision to not see Harry during his time in London. Hardman explained, "There is legal jeopardy which is the simple fact that here you have the son of The King suing The King's ministers in The King's court and that just creates all sorts of legal problems."

The biographer continued, "It would only need Harry to have a conversation with his father and then afterwards let slip, 'Oh, my dad said this or my dad said that'...That could lead to all sorts of problems. It could actually bring down a court case because The King is the fount of justice. He has got to be very careful."

Hardman also admitted that, aside from any legal complications, "there may be other reasons why The King doesn't want to see Harry right now." The royal expert explained, "Let's not forget, there is a lot of stress...[Charles] is someone undergoing medical treatment so people are trying to keep the stress levels down, but his legal advice is, you can't have a conversation until all this is sorted out."

Harry's barrister, Shaheed Fatima KC, previously explained that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "felt forced to step back from the role of full-time official working members of the Royal Family as they considered they were not being protected by the institution."

In court on April 9, Fatima said (via the Mirror), "There is a person sitting behind me whose safety, whose security, and whose life is at stake. There is a person sitting behind me who is being told he is getting a special bespoke process when he knows and has experienced a process that is manifestly inferior in every respect."

<![CDATA[ Prince William and Princess Kate’s Rarely Seen Family Member Stars in a Special Instagram Post Marking a Royal First ]]> Prince William and Princess Kate don't often share glimpses of their private lives on social media, and when it comes to their pets, fans are lucky to get an occasional glimpse in a photo with Prince George, Princess Charlotte or Prince Louis. Their beloved dog Lupo died in November 2020, but before he passed, the royal couple welcomed another black cocker spaniel, Orla, into their family. The Waleses remained tight-lipped about their secret dog for years and they didn't even share her name—which means "golden princess"—until 2022. But to mark National Pet Day on April 11, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a solo photo of their dog for the first time.

"Celebrating the animals who bring so much joy, companionship and love to our lives this #NationalPetDay 🐾🐕‍🦺," their post read. The photo featured a portrait of Orla sitting in the grass with dripping wet fur (perhaps from a swim with George, Charlotte and Louis?) and a quite regal expression as she looks off to the side.

Princess Kate's brother, James Middleton—who gave Orla to his sister and brother-in-law from one of his litters—couldn't resist adding a comment, writing, "Beautiful in every way 🐾."

The Wales family welcomed Orla into their home at some point in 2020 after James's dog Luna had puppies that May. "The new puppy is adorable and the whole family are besotted," a friend of the Waleses told the Mail on Sunday in January 2021, when the news of William and Kate's new dog was first reported.

Orla

"They were devastated when Lupo passed away," the source continued. "It was hoped that a younger dog would give Lupo some company and give him a little more life and energy."

In November 2020, William and Kate announced that Lupo had died, writing on Instagram, "Very sadly last weekend our dear dog, Lupo, passed away. He has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years and we will miss him so much. - W & C."

Orla made her official royal debut in Princess Charlotte's 2022 seventh birthday photos, with the young princess hugging the dog in a field of flowers. The pup also starred in Princess Kate's cancer update video in September 2024. To date, Orla has only made one public appearance, joining William and Kate at the 2022 Royal Charity Polo Cup.

Fellow dog lovers King Charles and Queen Camilla missed out on an opportunity to share their own new pets for the holiday. In February, The Queen revealed she had adopted a dog named Moley, and The King welcomed a new puppy named Snuff to their family this winter.

<![CDATA[ King Charles and Queen Camilla Experienced a Hilarious Self-Tan Incident That Caused Butler to Take "A Week Off" ]]> When it comes to the finer things in life, King Charles and Queen Camilla are nothing if not discerning. From the fragrance of the roses in the Highgrove gardens to the notes of a royal wine, the couple have cultivated a strong appreciation for all things elegant, including scent. So when an un-royal odor spread through the dining room one evening, it stopped their forks mid-air. The culprit wasn't one of Queen Camilla's dogs or The King's new puppy—according to one former royal butler, it was something much more unexpected.

Speaking on behalf of U.K. fragrance retailer La Fragancia, Grant Harrold— who worked as King Charles’s personal butler from 2004 to 2011 at Highgrove House—reveals the scent that once caused Charles and his wife Queen Camilla to pause their dinner.

“It was soon after their wedding and I had lost some weight, so I decided to get a spray tan," Harrold recalled. "I remember it left my skin with this awful sweet smell and that evening, I went to do dinner service. As I served Charles the food, he started sniffing and asked Camilla if she could smell something too."

Harrold continued that Camilla "said it was awful and joked that maybe it was me. It was so bad, I was sent to the pantry and given the night and eventually the whole week off!"

Even though the butler was banned from service until his spray tan smell wore off, The King and Queen extended him a special kindness when it came to their April 9, 2005 wedding day.

Earlier this week, Harrold told Prime Casino that he originally wasn't supposed to be invited to the then-Prince Charles's wedding to Camilla as only household staff who had been there for a year or more were allowed to attend. Since he'd only been working for Charles for eight months, Harrold shared, "All of my colleagues got their official wedding invitations coming in, but I didn’t get one."

However, about two weeks before the big day he received a phone call informing him that Charles and Camilla wanted to invite him "under the friends and family quota" for their guest list.

"I certainly was on the verge of tears. I was so excited to get invited to a royal wedding—I couldn't believe it," the former butler said. "It's extraordinary to suddenly get invited to something like that. You pinch yourself, thinking, 'I can't believe—I can't believe this.'"

<![CDATA[ Why Princess Charlene Has Been Granted a Special "Privilege" Queen Camilla and Other Royals are Banned From Doing ]]> Queen Camilla and King Charles have wrapped up their state visit to Italy, but before they left, the royal couple made a surprise visit to Pope Francis. Their Majesties' official visit with the ailing pope was canceled due to his ongoing health concerns, but on April 9, they met privately with the pontiff. For the occasion, Queen Camilla dressed in all black, as is tradition for royal women and first ladies on papal visits—but it turns out Princess Charlene and six other royals can wear an entirely different color.

Queen Camilla wore a modest three-quarter sleeve black dress and one of her favorite pearl necklaces to meet Pope Francis—who recently was hospitalized with double pneumonia and a polymicrobial infection—while The King dressed in a dark suit and black tie. King Charles is seen clutching a red gift box in the photos, and although it's unclear if the gift was for Pope Francis or was given from him to the couple, Charles and Camilla celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary the same day they met with the pontiff.

The Queen hasn't always abided by the typical black looks most women wear to meet the pope (she wore a beige outfit to meet with him in 2017), but everyone from Princess Diana to Jackie Kennedy has been seen in black dresses and dark veils over the years. Wearing black and a veil has become optional since the '80s, but most royals prefer to follow the tradition.

However, Princess Charlene is one of seven women in the entire world who are allowed to wear white to meet the pope. Known as "il privilegio del bianco" or "the privilege of the white," the royal rule allows Catholic royal women to wear white during papal events.

Since Monaco is a Catholic country, Princess Charlene has been extended the privilege to wear white. She's joined by Queen Mathilde of Belgium, former Queen Paolo of Belgium, Queen Letizia of Spain, the former Queen Sofia of Spain, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg and the princesses of the House of Savoy.

Although these queens and princesses are permitted to wear white, that doesn't mean they're required to do so; Charlene has worn black to meet with the pope, like she did during a 2022 visit.

And even though Queen Camilla wasn't allowed to sport the shade for her papal visit, she made a romantic style statement the same day by re-wearing the white outfit she wore for her 2005 civil wedding ceremony to The King.

<![CDATA[ The Future Queen of Norway Trades Camo Fatigues For a 125-Year-Old Tiara and Her Mom's Old Evening Gown ]]> Princess Ingrid Alexandra celebrated her 21st birthday earlier this year, and now she's marked two other huge milestones. The princess, who is set to become Norway's future queen one day, officially completed her compulsory military training earlier this month, and on April 8, she took part in her first state visit. For the occasion, the military graduate swapped her uniform for a sparkling tiara—and while her jewels were more than a century old, her gown was also a familiar piece.

The princess joined her parents Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon for a state banquet held in honor of Iceland's president Halla Tómasdottir and her husband Björn Skúlason. Ingrid Alexandra looked stunning in a pale blue evening dress featuring asymmetrical tiered ruffles, pairing the gown with the Boucheron Pearl Circle tiara.

If the dress looks familiar, it's because Ingrid Alexandra's mother wore the same pale blue gown to Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden's 2010 wedding. In a sweet full circle moment, Princess Ingrid Alexandra—who was a flower girl in Victoria and Daniel's royal wedding—posed with her mother for photos when Mette-Marit wore the tiered dress.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra received her glittering tiara as an 18th birthday present in 2022, and according to The Court Jeweller, it "was likely purchased by Prince Carl of Sweden from Boucheron" after the luxury jeweler showed the piece at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris. The tiara was then passed down through the Swedish and Norwegian royal families, and most recently was owned by King Harald of Norway's sister, Princess Ragnhild, who lived in Brazil until her 2012 death.

While it's unknown how the design—which features overlapping diamond circles with pearl accents—came into Ingrid Alexandra's possession, it once belonged to her great-great-grandmother Princess Ingeborg. Princess Ingrid Alexandra wore the historic tiara for her official 18th birthday portraits as well as to her lavish birthday party, which was attended by three other future European queens.

As for her military service, Private Alexandra told reporters (via Royal Central), “It will be very nice [to graduate] in one way, but also very sad, because there are many people I have gotten to know well and have grown to love very much."

<![CDATA[ Why King Charles and Queen Camilla "Wept" at Windsor Castle Event and "Set Off the Staff" ]]> King Charles and Queen Camilla faced numerous obstacles leading up to their April 9, 2005 wedding day. Public perception of their relationship—and of Camilla Parker Bowles in general—was low given their longtime affair while Charles was still married to Princess Diana. The future Queen was plagued by paparazzi camping outside her home and chasing her on the streets, and at one point, the results of a public poll even declared that Charles should not become King if he married his one-time mistress. It's no wonder that when it was all over and they finally tied the knot, emotions ran high for the couple.

Writing in the Sun, royal expert Penny Junor reflected on the journey The King and Queen went through to get to their wedding day. "A queen had tried to prise them apart. A princess had shamed them. A whole country had turned against them," she wrote. "But their love held strong, even when everything else around them had fallen apart."

The couple announced their engagement in February 2005, but their wedding day had to be moved at the last minute due to Pope John Paul II's funeral. On top of that, Queen Camilla had fallen ill with a serious sinus infection. After this turbulent series of events, it was no doubt a relief when the then-Prince Charles finally married Camilla Parker Bowles at the Guildhall in Windsor. The couple held a church blessing at St. George's Chapel after the civil ceremony, followed by a reception at Windsor Castle.

Junor wrote that "when the new Duke and Duchess of Cornwall stepped back into Windsor Castle after becoming husband and wife, they both wept."

“Their tears set off the staff who were waiting for them, and soon everybody was sobbing," the royal biographer continued. "They were crying for joy, and for love.”

Years later, Queen Elizabeth would be the one to publicly declare her support for Camilla, stating that it was her "sincere wish" that the Duchess of Cornwall be known as Queen Consort when her son took the throne. But during the '90s and early '00s, the late monarch held a different opinion.

"The Queen, for one, believed that her son’s long-term mistress was so loathed that she was beyond redemption," Junor wrote. "Elizabeth was so concerned about the consequences for the monarchy that she waged a campaign for years to try to get Charles to give her up."

However, with time, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Camilla formed a bond, one that caused the late monarch to give Camilla a place on the Privy Council as a Counsellor of State. As Junor wrote, "Camilla has such a twinkle in her eye that you feel the world is a better place after a couple of moments in her company."

<![CDATA[ King Charles Spent His "Remote" Honeymoon With Queen Camilla in an Unusual Way, Per Former Royal Employee ]]> While Prince William and Princess Kate jetted off to the sunny Seychelles for their 2011 honeymoon, The King and Queen Camilla—who celebrated their 20th anniversary on April 9—chose a decidedly chillier option for their post-wedding trip. The royal couple traveled north for their April 2005 honeymoon, and according to a former royal gardener, Their Majesties didn't exactly spend their time sunbathing.

Charles and Camilla chose to vacation on the King's 53,000-acre Birkhall estate, which is located on the grounds of Balmoral Castle. Speaking on behalf of Fruity King, Jack Stooks, who worked as a senior gardener at Highgrove for more than 20 years, said he had a special reason for traveling to Scotland with the then-Duke and Duchess of Cornwall for their honeymoon.

Stooks explained that the flowers used for the couple's wedding had sentimental meaning, as they "were taken from the Queen's house at Ray Mill and the King's gardens at Highgrove." Following the wedding, held in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, the royal gardener "traveled in a white van to Birkhall to replant them" on the Scottish estate.

"There were a lot of cherry and amelanchier trees in the church and big square planters had been made for them," he recalled. "The plants being repurposed was a very lovely gesture and very fitting, as sustainability is an issue close to the King’s heart." In fact, The King was so excited about the trees that he actually spent his honeymoon helping to plant them.

“He’s got very green fingers and he loves plants," Stooks shared. "Myself, the Birkhall resident gardener and Charles helped to replant the trees during his honeymoon. He was happy to get stuck in and get his hands dirty."

The former Highgrove employee added that The King will "weed and prune too. He enjoys being outdoors.”

Along with tree planting, Stooks revealed that Charles and Camilla enjoyed the peace and privacy Birkhall affords. "At the time, there were still critics of the wedding so going somewhere private was what they both craved," he shared. "They could have a lot of royal protection there too. The press aren’t as intrusive in Scotland and it’s a lovely environment near the river."

As for what they did in Scotland, Stooks said that his bosses "enjoyed going on beautiful walks and there were lots of quiet spots for romantic picnics too.” Charles and Camilla even took time for a royal engagement during their romantic break, cutting the ribbon at a local playground and greeting members of the public.

And even though The King is a known workaholic, he took the trip as an opportunity to recharge. "He’s very renowned for her work ethic but Charles and Camilla’s honeymoon gave them the opportunity to relax," Stooks said. "It also gave them a nice place to open wedding gifts and write some thank you notes. They were both officially off work so I’m sure they enjoyed the chance to unwind."

<![CDATA[ Prince Harry’s Lawyer Claims His "Life Is at Stake" When It Comes to Court Ruling ]]> Prince Harry's lawyers emphasized that his "life" could be at risk depending on the outcome of his latest court battle. On Wednesday, April 9, the Duke of Sussex attended the final day of hearings in the appeal over a U.K. court's decision to remove his taxpayer-funded security.

The duke traveled to London to appear in court, although it's been reported by multiple outlets he did not meet with King Charles before the monarch left for a four-day tour of Italy. In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's police protection in the UK. was stripped after they stepped down as senior working royals. The Duke of Sussex is challenging the ruling in his case in an appeal that has been years in the making.

Earlier this week, his barrister Shaheed Fatima KC said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "felt forced to step back from the role of full-time official working members of the Royal Family as they considered they were not being protected by the institution."

On Wednesday, she stated, via the Mirror, "There is a person sitting behind me whose safety, whose security, and whose life is at stake. There is a person sitting behind me who is being told he is getting a special bespoke process when he knows and has experienced a process that is manifestly inferior in every respect."

The Duke of Sussex was reported to have been given a special "bespoke" process for his security review, a proceeding which Fatima claims has been "inferior" and "unjustified."

Prince Harry has remarked on several occasions—including in a documentary about tabloid journalism—that he felt unsafe bringing wife Meghan Markle and their children Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie to the U.K.

"It's still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read," Harry said in 2024's Tabloids on Trial. "And whether it's a knife or acid, whatever it is, and these are things that are of genuine concern for me, it's one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country."

His lawyer pointed out that the mere fact Prince Harry attended the two-day hearing in person was a testament to how important the matter was to the duke. "We do say that his presence here, and throughout this appeal, is a potent illustration, were one needed, of how much this appeal means to him and his family," she told the court.

According to the Mirror, judge Sir Geoffrey Vos said a decision on the appeal was "unlikely" to arrive before Easter.

<![CDATA[ Benny Blanco Took Selena Gomez to "Prom" Since She Didn’t Get to Go as a Teen ]]> It was Benny Blanco's special day, but he decided to make it all about Selena Gomez. In an interview with Jennifer Hudson, Blanco shared that he chose to make his recent birthday party prom-themed, because his fiancée never attended prom as a teenager. Meanwhile, this marked Blanco's third time at the high school dance.

"Selena had never been to a prom before, so I thought I’d throw us a prom for my birthday," Blanco said on the April 7 episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show.

Blanco turned 37 on March 8 and celebrated with a party full of formalwear and Mylar balloons. As previously reported by People, photos from the event could be seen on the Instagram of Theresa Mingus, Gomez's friend and ex-assistant.

Mingus' snaps show the I Said I Love You First singer's prom look: a pink ballgown and black jacket. On March 24, Gomez posted a photo that appears to be from the night of the party that shows her wearing the dress while sitting on Blanco's back. According to Page Six, the dress is by Oscar de la Renta and worth nearly $11K. What? What did you wear to prom?

Gomez never attended the traditional school dance, because by the time she was a teenager, she was already a huge star and was being homeschooled. When the Emilia Pérez actor was 18 years old in 2010, she was starring on the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place and releasing her second album with her band, Selena Gomez & the Scene.

In 2016, Gomez talked about being disappointed that she missed out on prom in an interview with Australian radio station Nova 96.9.

"I wanted to go to prom and people are like, 'Oh, you'd be disappointed.' But I was like, 'I want to go to prom!'" she said (via Teen Vogue.) She added that she "sometimes" feels like she missed out on what life might have been if she wasn't a child star, but said that she doesn't "know any different." She explained, "There's a balance to life that I think is normal and I think what we do and what I love is, for me, normal. But it isn't actually when you look at it."

Her fiancé, on the other hand, attended prom twice when he was a teen. "Usually you’re supposed to go as a senior, but I got invited when I was younger," he told Hudson. "One time I went with a friend, like we went in a friend group. And then one time I went with a girlfriend."

But, his most recent prom—his 37th birthday prom as a newly engaged man—was his favorite.

"Honestly, my favorite prom was with my partner. She didn’t even know—she was like, 'What am I supposed to wear? What am I supposed to do?' It was like she was really going to prom. I got her a corsage."

No word on if there was a wild afterparty at someone's parents' house or if they grinded to "Get Low" by Lil Jon.

<![CDATA[ This Unexpected Royal is Said to be Responsible for the Remarkable Shift in Queen Camilla's "Public Perception" ]]> Despite her charitable work and devotion to the Crown, Queen Camilla spent years struggling to shake the perception of being the "other woman." Her longtime relationship with Prince Charles, once a shocking affair that captivated the world—and played out against the heartbreak of Princess Diana's death—made the now-Queen one of the most controversial figures in modern royal history. But the tides have quietly shifted over the past decade, and one member of the Royal Family played a huge part in defining Camilla's role.

In 2022, Queen Elizabeth made a remarkable public statement in support of her daughter-in-law Camilla to mark her own 70th anniversary of becoming Queen. Reflecting on when her son Charles would take the throne, the late monarch wrote, "And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service."

Royal biographer Robert Jobson told the Express that Charles and Camilla's "story took a defining turn when Queen Elizabeth II, in a move of strategic foresight, secured Camilla’s place in history" through this statement.

"By welcoming her into the Privy Council and publicly expressing her hope that Camilla would be styled Queen Consort, the late Queen reshaped both royal tradition and public perception," he added.

One of The King's former butlers, Grant Harrold, agreed, telling the publication that Queen Elizabeth's public support of Camilla "was a huge thing to happen."

He continued that "for The Queen to publicly say it, it was almost mostly to assure those who may question it and to assure The Queen was behind it all. If the Queen was behind it, everyone was behind it."

Including Queen Camilla as one of the Counsellors of State "is a big deal," the former butler added. If The King was unable to fulfill his duties, Camilla could step in to carry out functions like signing documents, attending meetings and receiving ambassadors—a concept that would have been unbelievable to many not very long ago.

Of course, Queen Elizabeth's backing was hugely significant, but Queen Camilla's popularity has also steadily increased thanks to her ongoing charitable work. Through dedication to her patronages, championing causes like domestic violence awareness, animal adoption and literacy, Camilla has won over even some of her harshest critics.

<![CDATA[ Ed Sheeran Shares What It's Really Like When He and Taylor Swift Hang Out ]]> Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are going through something that many long-term friendships experience—just with some stadium tours and immense fame mixed in. In an interview with Call Her Daddy, Sheeran opened up about his friendship with Swift, and said that while they don't see each other as much as they once did (relatable!), when they do, they spend hours making sure they catch each other up on their lives.

In the April 8 interview, Sheeran was asked about his favorite memory with Swift, and he said that he recently felt "nostalgic" about his time with her on The Red Tour in 2013. Sheeran performed with Swift for her shows in the U.S. and Canada as an opening act and as part of their duet "Everything Has Changed". He also made surprise appearances at a show in London and one in Berlin. And not only did the singers spend a lot of time touring together, they also lived in the same city for a while.

"I lived in Nashville and she lived in Nashville and we used to fly to and from the gigs together and do all sorts of... I don't know," the "Shape of You" singer recalled. "I literally spent almost every single day with her for about six months, so I think that period of time, and I do, you know, I see her when I see her."

Sheeran said that he now sees Swift "like four times a year." The father of two continued, "And we do what I said—like, instead of catching up the whole time, we have like proper sit-down, six-hour catchups, and I think that's a really nice way to do it. But I think that period, yeah. 2013."

Sheeran previously discussed just how deep his chats with Swift get in an interview with Apple Music 1 in 2023.

"I have long, long, long conversations with Taylor about stuff just because I feel like she’s one of the only people that actually truly understands where I’m at," Sheeran said (via The Hollywood Reporter). He shared that they talked for over an hour prior to his interview. "Everything that was on our minds we talked about," he said, explaining that it was "kind of therapy" to talk to someone who "genuinely gets it."

Unsurprisingly, Swift has also spoken out positively about her bond with her friend and Eras Tour guest.

"We‘ve gotten matching Scottish folds, made each other arts and crafts Christmas presents, vacationed with our families, and had each other‘s backs," she told Rolling Stone for a profile for Sheeran in 2017. "He is the James Taylor to my Carole King and I can‘t imagine a time when he wouldn't be." Long talks and matching cats, that's true friendship.

<![CDATA[ Zendaya's Stylist Law Roach Just Opened Up About Her Wedding Plans ]]> Zendaya may not be opening up about her engagement or wedding yet, but her stylist is. The actor's longtime stylist, Law Roach, was asked about Zendaya and fiancé Tom Holland's upcoming nuptials, and he shared some gossip about when we can expect the couple to tie the knot and how he'll be involved. But sorry to anyone looking to see Zendaya and Holland wedding pics soon, it'll be a while.

On the red carpet at the Fashion Trust Awards on April 8, E! News asked Roach if he will be involved with styling Zendaya for her wedding. "Of course, of course," the 46-year-old said. Roach and Zendaya have been working together since 2011 and have created some stunning red carpet looks together, so it's no surprise that he would also be part of the Challengers star's wedding day.

As for when that wedding will be, Roach didn't give an exact day—or even year—but it sounds like it could be quite some time because of how busy Zendaya and Holland are currently.

"It’s far away," Roach told E!. "They’re both doing a bunch of movies this year, and there’s a lot of premieres next year, so you’ll see a lot of red carpets. I’m resting up for 2026."

He added, "But the wedding, you know…" The reporter responded, "We’ve got some time," to which Roach confirmed, "Yeah."

On the schedule for Holland and Zendaya are two movies they're making together: The Odyssey is filming now and is set to hit theaters July 17, 2026; Spider-Man: Brand New Day will film this summer and is scheduled to be released July 31, 2026. On top of that, Zendaya will also appear in Dune: Messiah and The Drama—neither of which have confirmed premiere dates, but may also be released in 2026—and she has a voice role in Shrek 5, which will be released December 23, 2026. And then there's the long-awaited Euphoria season 3, also set for 2026.

Meanwhile, in addition to The Odyssey and the fourth Spider-Man movie, Holland will appear as Spider-Man in Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled for a May 1, 2026 release.

So, yeah, Law is right. They have a lot going on.

Zendaya and Holland's engagement was revealed when the Dune star showed up to the Golden Globes in January wearing an engagement ring. Holland's father, Dominic Holland, then shared some information about his son's proposal planning in a Patreon post.

"Tom, as you know by now, was very incredibly well prepared," Dominic wrote. "He had purchased a ring. He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter. Tom had everything planned out… When, where, how, what to say, what to wear."

While Holland and Zendaya are clearly very busy now, Holland has shared that he plans to put his career on hold once he moves on to a new chapter in his life.

"When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore," he told Men's Health in January. What will he do? "Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth." Sometime after 2026, obviously.

<![CDATA[ Ellie the Elephant Inks Her First Beauty Contract with Essie Like the Queen She Is ]]> One of the many reasons women's sports deserves equal airtime, and equal pay, with men is that the powers that be behind the female franchises are having almost too much fun with their mascots. Case in point: Ellie the Elephant, the sassy, twerking, fashion-maven mascot for the New York Liberty basketball team. Since replacing the previous (and much less fun to watch) mascot, Maddie the dog, four years ago, she has provided the perfect degree of maximalist style to the sidelines, amping up the crowd and dancing with the team's infamous 40-and-up dancers, the Timeless Torches, during half-time.

Big Ellie, as she's commonly know, already has a suite of custom jersey dresses by sportswear designer Gabe Stark (in addition to outerwear, jewelry and custom sneakers), a profile in The New York Times style section, "Have You Ever Seen an Elephant Twerk?", and hundreds of thousands of followers on both TikTok and Instagram. Clearly, the mascot is a rising star in the fashion space, but it's time her signature court-side glam—think mile-long lashes and playful hairstyles like braided ponytails to down-to-there weaves—received some much-deserved attention.

Fittingly, the Brooklyn pachyderm with the most notorious court-side glam in the game can now add beauty spokesperson (so to speak) to her growing resume as the new face of Essie. She is now the nail brand's official "Mani Mascot."

The full campaign launches today, April 10, and features Ellie in full court-side glam and, of course, sporting a chic Essie manicure in the team's signature teal. "Essie is excited to champion this momentum and be part of the ever-growing fusion of beauty and athletics," the brand wrote in a press release to media.

Of course it's not unusual for players to land brand contracts, especially with the new NCAA rules granting collegiate athletes the ability to monetize their image and accept endorsement deals (Paige Bueckers, you're an icon), but I can't say that Chicago's Benny the Bull or San Antonio's The Coyote have any brand contracts to their name, or a team of personal stylists. Consider this news all the more proof that the WNBA is just as relevant for basketball fans of all genders, and is committed to reflecting the interests and values of its female audience.

It's no accident that Ellie has resonated so deeply with Liberty fans. The team has made a concerted effort for the mascot to represent the diverse identity of her home borough and the league itself. Not only that, the team that is responsible for styling the elephant—all Black women who jokingly call themselves her "aunties"—is striving to work with primarily Black and Brooklyn-based designers, per Sports Illustrated. And if you've never walked around Brooklyn and engaged in some people watching, you might not realize just how crucial a killer manicure is to the locals. From the latest nail color trends to boundary pushing NFC nails, New Yorkers in-the-know will always bring their best nail game to the table—or, as is the case with Ellie the Elephant, to the court.

Shop a few gel by essie—the brand’s newly reformulated, long wear polish—colors to wear to your next New York Liberty game.

<![CDATA[ James Middleton Says He "Had 3 Mothers Growing Up" Thanks to Sisters Kate and Pippa ]]> When it comes to sisters, James Middleton seems to have hit the jackpot. The little brother of Kate and Pippa Middleton has enjoyed the support of his siblings throughout his lifetime, whether it was at school or during his serious battle with depression. In a new interview with Hello!, the James & Ella pet food founder said that he's been able to lean on his sisters as "mothering figures."

James, who welcomed the magazine to his farmhouse in Berkshire, England, shared that he lives just "five minutes up the road" from parents Carole and Michael Middleton. "We're a close family, and we’re fortunate in that we see lots of each other," he said. "My parents play a good role in getting us all together in that respect."

The Meet Ella author added that he was "brought up knowing that you can't take family for granted," adding, "You don't get to choose them, as you can choose your friends. But I don't think you can give up on your family like you can sometimes with friends."

When it comes to not giving up, Kate and Pippa played an integral role in helping their brother through his depression. Following a period when he grappled with suicidal ideation, James's sisters attended therapy appointments with him and helped him with his mental health. "I jokingly say that I had three mothers growing up. I had my mother and my two sisters, who were mothering figures to me," he explained.

James, who shares son Inigo and six dogs with wife Alizée Thevenet, continued, "I was very fortunate. We had a fantastic childhood, and they included me in everything they did, and still do. I'm now in my late 30s and we still have that friendship."

Famous dog lover and breeder James—who admitted he's "on another scale of passionate" about the animal—has given his sisters dogs from his litters over the years, including Pippa's dog, Rafa, Kate's late cocker spaniel, Lupo, and the Wales family's current dog, Orla.

"Wherever they go, they bring the dogs with them, so I see lots of them, which is lovely," he told Hello!

The Middleton family is so into dogs that 18-month-old Inigo's very first word was "woof," according to James. In fact, the toddler "spent the first year of his life thinking he was a dog. He'd crawl around on all fours, which was entertaining to watch," the proud dad shared.

<![CDATA[ Prince George and Prince William Are on a Boys' Trip to Paris as They Make a Surprise Appearance That's "Really Important" to the Royal Dad ]]> Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are currently on a school break, and while royal watchers have been wondering what the Wales family has been up to, it turns out Prince William and his eldest child escaped for a little father/son time in the City of Light. Passionate Aston Villa FC fans William and George were spotted in the stands during the UEFA Champions League quarter final first leg match on Wednesday, April 9.

Joined by the Prince of Wales's longtime friend Thomas van Straubenzee, the father/son duo are taking in the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa at Parc des Prince stadium. The outing marks 11-year-old Prince George's first public appearance since Christmas 2024.

Ahead of the game, the Prince of Wales gave an interview to TNT Sports, joining football legend Rio Ferdinand to discuss the exciting match in an Instagram Reel. When it was pointed out, “You came with a few mates, is it a bit of a lads tour?" the future King replied with a laugh, “Well I've got my son here as well, I’m on best behavior as well."

Noting that "it's been 43 years" since Aston Villa won the Champions League, the Prince of Wales said it was "important" for him to have his son along for the moment. “I want George to experience a night out away from home in a big European competition," Prince William said. "I hope it’s not 43 years before the next time it happens. I think those memories are really important to create."

Ferdinand inquired if he was "one of those dads" who insists on his kids being fans of his favorite team, but Prince William answered very diplomatically.

"I’m generally very open to whoever they support, but obviously I’m a bit biased," he said, adding, "But also they come to games with Villa they’re probably going to support Villa."

As for Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte—who have never publicly shared their love for any particular football team—the Prince of Wales said, "I’ve left the other two at home, probably watching tonight, so we’ll wait and see who they support."

"Home" may have been a relative term, as it was exclusively reported by Paris Match on April 9 that the Wales family had taken a ski holiday in France for their school break. The outlet shared exclusive photos of the family outside their villa on April 2 and 3, with the princess wearing a gray and red sweater with the word "Ski" across the front.

Along with discussing his kids, the Prince of Wales jumped into an incredibly astute analysis of Aston Villa's chances during the match, and even Ferdinand was impressed. "Do not go for a punditry job," the former football player joked, adding that the Prince of Wales could give him a run for his money.

Football fans were equally impressed, with one commenter writing, in part, "Mate he's actually got serious ball knowledge" and another adding, "He should work for BT Sport. Man, I was shocked at his analysis."

<![CDATA[ The Touching Secret Details in King Charles and Queen Camilla's New 20th Anniversary Portraits ]]> The Royal Family shared two beautiful new portraits of King Charles and Queen Camilla to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, April 9. The couple will be concluding their four-day state visit to Italy on April 10, but to kick off the trip, the duo posed for photos on the lush grounds of Villa Wolkons in Rome. In the portraits, snapped by longtime royal photographer Chris Jackson, Their Majesties look refreshed and happy—but there's a hidden detail in the pictures that many fans probably didn't spot.

"As we begin our first visit to Italy as King and Queen, we are so looking forward to celebrating our twentieth wedding anniversary in such a special place – and with such wonderful people! A presto, Roma e Ravenna!" the King and Queen wrote on social media April 7.

In the first photo, Charles and Camilla stood in front of flowering bushes as they beamed at the camera, with The Queen dressed in a white Anna Valentine coat dress accented with a gorgeous floral brooch. However, the Fabergé pin isn't just any old design.

According to jewelry expert Maxwell Stone of Steven Stone Jewelers, the brooch "features a graceful arrangement of diamonds and pearls designed to resemble a delicate spray of lily of the valley—a meaningful choice, as the flower appeared in her wedding bouquet."

"Queen Camilla consistently selects jewelry with deep personal significance for official portraits," Stone added.

But the bridal touches didn't end there. Queen Camilla chose to wear the same diamond and pearl drop earrings she wore on her 2005 wedding day in the photos.

"Camilla has worn these earrings regularly for the last 20 years, so it’s especially touching to see them appear in the portrait marking two decades of marriage," said Laura Taylor of Lorel Diamonds. "She first wore them on their wedding day, and while it’s never been publicly confirmed, it’s believed they were a gift from either King Charles or the late Queen Elizabeth."

The jewelry expert added that she'd estimate the style to be worth "$50,000 to $63,000."

The Queen continued to celebrate her anniversary in style during a state banquet on Wednesday night, wearing the massive turquoise and diamond necklace she inherited from her family with diamond earrings and a teal lace gown. Camilla also carried a custom clutch bag from one of Queen Elizabeth's favorite brands, Launer.

<![CDATA[ Meghan Markle Shares Her Thoughts on Trump's Tariffs as She Launches As Ever ]]> Meghan Markle launched her anticipated lifestyle brand As ever on April 2, with the full line of products selling out in less than an hour. From raspberry spread to teas and honey, the eight-piece collection flew off the brand's website. But with new tariffs created by President Trump the same day as As ever's launch, the Duchess of Sussex was asked how her business might need to change gears.

The White House introduced a 10 percent baseline tariff on all countries importing goods to the United States, but about 60 countries described as the "worst offenders" in terms of charging higher tariffs on U.S. goods will be charged a higher rate.

In an interview with Fortune, the Duchess of Sussex said she didn't think As ever would be impacted by the tariffs. "At the moment, all of our products are currently made in the U.S.," she told the magazine.

"But as we look at the larger context of how this is going to affect the consumer day to day, I’m very grateful that in part of the conception of this brand, I wanted to create products that look more prestige, but are more accessible and affordable," the duchess added.

As ever launched its first collection to include consumables like honey, flower sprinkles and shortbreak cookie mix priced from $9 to $28, and it's understood that she'll expand into other lifestyle products for future seasonal drops.

"I think during any time of recession, people still want to find creature comforts, items that can bring them joy," the duchess continued, referring to how tariffs could impact her business.

However, Netflix noted that while As ever's products are currently only available to ship within the United States, the brand has "plans to expand globally." Whether the duchess will have to shift gears on international delivery due to the new tariffs is unclear, but one thing that's certain is her next drop will likely sell out even more quickly than the first.

<![CDATA[ The Surprising Reason Why Queen Elizabeth Was "Absolutely Adamant" to Not Attend King Charles and Queen Camilla's Civil Wedding Ceremony ]]> While Queen Camilla and King Charles have now enjoyed two decades of marriage, they didn't have the smoothest start to their relationship. Due to their longtime affair when Charles was married to Princess Diana, Camilla's popularity with the British public wasn't exactly high. But in February 2005, the then-Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles announced their engagement. They went on to marry in a civil service on April 9, 2005 before holding a larger church wedding at St. George's Chapel the same day. And while two very important guests didn't attend the civil ceremony, it wasn't for the reasons the public might've guessed.

As Charles and Camilla were both divorced at the time, they were unable to carry out a traditional church wedding under the rules of the Church of England. Instead, they were married in a civil service before a church blessing at Windsor Castle. The couple gave plenty of smiles and waves to onlookers outside the Guildhall in Windsor, but unfortunately, both Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip skipped the civil service.

However, the decision wasn't made due to any ill will against Camilla.

According to The King's official biographer, Jonathan Dimbleby (via the Mirror), Charles "would have liked The Queen to be there" for his marriage ceremony, but she made her stance clear.

The author continued that the late Queen “had been absolutely adamant…not because she was against the wedding, but because, as the supreme governor of the Church of England, you don’t do civil ceremonies." Even though Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip felt it was inappropriate for them to attend a civil wedding, they did support the royal couple during their blessing at St. George's Chapel later that day.

Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh also hosted a reception for the newlyweds at Windsor Castle, with the late Queen making a touching (and rather appropriate) speech.

Per the Mirror, the late monarch—a lifelong equestrian—made horse racing analogies about the Grand National in her toast, stating, “They have overcome Becher’s Brook and The Chair and all kinds of other terrible obstacles. They have come through and I’m very proud and wish them well. My son is home and dry with the woman he loves."

<![CDATA[ Former Butler Reveals the "Extraordinary" Gesture King Charles Made to Him on His Wedding Day to Queen Camilla: "On the Verge of Tears" ]]> King Charles and Queen Camilla are currently carrying out an official state visit to Italy, but they're also celebrating their 20th anniversary on Wednesday, April 9. To mark the special day, one of The King's former butlers has shared the touching way the then-Prince Charles included him on their 2005 wedding day. Although it's been reported that The King can be quite demanding of his staff, he went above and beyond for one particular member of the household.

Speaking on behalf of Prime Casino, Grant Harrold—who worked as a personal butler to Charles at Highgrove House for six years—said that members of the household staff who'd been serving Prince Charles for more than one year were invited to the wedding.

"I'd been at Highgrove for about eight months when the wedding was announced," Harrold shared. "I later found out that I wasn't getting invited to the wedding because you had to have completed at least a year's service, and I had only been there eight months. All of my colleagues got their official wedding invitations coming in, but I didn’t get one."

The former palace employee recalled feeling "gutted" over having to miss out on the day. "I'd have loved to have gone, but that was obviously not going to happen."

However, Charles and Camilla pulled out a last-minute surprise for Harrold ahead of their big day, with the former butler stating he “got a phone call about two weeks before the wedding."

"It was from this chap who was the finance controller for the household, and he said, ‘I've been asked to call you on behalf of the Prince of Wales and Miss Parker-Bowles,'" Harrold said. The man explained that although Harrold hadn't served a year in his role, Charles and Camilla were "allowed to invite friends and family, and under the friends and family quota, they're inviting you to go."

The butler admitted that the invitation made him "very emotional," adding, "I certainly was on the verge of tears. I was so excited to get invited to a royal wedding—I couldn't believe it. It's extraordinary to suddenly get invited to something like that. You pinch yourself, thinking, 'I can't believe—I can't believe this.'"

Although he described the 2005 ceremony at St. George's Chapel as "more relaxed and definitely very different" to a typical royal wedding, Harrold said the service "was similar to most normal weddings."

Speaking of his former boss and how he's grown, Harrold added, "Charles’s relationship with Camilla changed him for the better. She's helped him become more comfortable and more himself—I think we see more of the real him thanks to her. She makes him laugh a lot."

<![CDATA[ Queen Camilla Dazzles in a $10 Million Brooch With Ties to Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana ]]> King Charles and Queen Camilla touched down in Rome on Monday, April 7 to kick off their anticipated state visit to Italy. Although The King was briefly hospitalized in late March, Their Majesties arrived in Italy on schedule, ready to take on a busy few days of engagements (and celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary). On April 8, Queen Camilla chose a regal ensemble for a day that included visits to the Colosseum and Quirinale Palace, the official residence of the Italian president—and her historic brooch brings back memories of numerous queens who came before her.

Camilla, who wore a blue silk crepe dress and matching coat by one of her favorite designers, Fiona Clare, showed off a sparkling sapphire and diamond brooch that's steeped in history. Known as Prince Albert's Brooch, the Garrard design features an enormous oval-shaped sapphire surrounded by diamonds and per The Court Jeweller, was given by Prince Albert to Queen Victoria on their wedding night in 1840.

Victoria wore the brooch pinned to her wedding dress and it was designated in her will as an "heirloom to the crown," which meant it would be handed down to future queens for generations to come. The piece was worn by Queen Alexandra for her 1902 coronation and by Queen Mary, the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth through the years.

Queen Elizabeth frequently wore Prince Albert's brooch throughout her 70-year reign, pinning it to her coat for numerous occasions, and now Queen Camilla has the honor of wearing the piece.

And while Princess Diana never wore the brooch, it's said to have inspired her engagement ring, which features a very similar sapphire design surrounded by designs. The iconic ring, of course, was later given to Kate Middleton when Prince William proposed in 2010.

Maxwell Stone of Steven Stone Jewelers said that due to its incredible history, the sapphire and diamond pin—which contains a center stone of "at least 40 carats" would be "worth around £8 million" (roughly $10 million) if it sold today.

<![CDATA[ James Middleton Admits His Son "Spent the First Year of His Life Thinking He was a Dog" ]]> Queen Elizabeth was known as the biggest dog lover in the Royal Family, but Princess Kate's brother James Middleton might give the late monarch a run for her money. The Princess of Wales's little brother not only breeds dogs but owns his own pet food company, and last year, he published a memoir about how his beloved cocker spaniel Ella saved him from depression. In a new interview with Hello! magazine's The Daily Lowdown podcast, Middleton revealed that his little boy loves animals just as much as he does.

In fact, the Meet Ella author—who shares an 18-month old son, Inigo, with wife Alizée Thevenet—said his son's "first word was 'woof.'" His choice of word should come as no surprise given James and Alizée are pet parents to a whopping six dogs: Isla, Zulu, Inka, Luna, Mabel and Nala.

Apparently, Inigo considers himself as part of the pack. Middleton admitted that the toddler "spent the first year of his life thinking he was a dog. He'd crawl around on all fours, which was entertaining to watch."

The James & Ella pet food founder continued, "But he loves dogs, particularly Isla—he puts his arm around her neck and squeezes. He loves chatting to the animals. He shouts at the chickens and knows what noise a cow makes. He shares many of my loves, which are tractors, sheep and dogs."

The Prince and Princess of Wales have benefitted from James's knowledge of canines, as their first dog, Lupo—who died in 2020—was bred by Middleton as well as their current dog, Orla.

In his memoir, Middleton wrote that his late dog Ella was responsible for saving him from a suicide attempt. After climbing through the skylight onto the roof of his London apartment building, James—who was suffering from deep depression—considered jumping, but looked down and saw Ella staring at him. "I haul myself back from the brink, slowly climb down the ladder and stroke Ella's silky head," he wrote. "She is the reason I do not take that fatal leap. She is Ella, the dog who saved my life."

<![CDATA[ Prince William and Princess Kate are "Acutely Aware" of "Problems" Charlotte and Louis Will Face Growing Up Alongside George ]]> As Prince George continues to grow into his future role as King, his younger siblings are thriving in their own right. Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, who will turn 7 later this month, bring plenty of energy, personality and—at least in Louis's case—cheeky antics to royal life. While they might not be destined for the throne like George, the royal duo will need to carve out their own place in the Royal Family—and it's something Prince William and Princess Kate constantly keep in mind as they raise their three children.

George, 11, will be entering his last year at Windsor's Lambrook School in September, marking a major milestone in the future King's life. It's currently unclear if he'll be heading to Eton like his father or Malborough College like mom Kate—or perhaps even a London day school. But according to the royal rumor mill, the prince and princess are keen to keep all three of their children together, making a co-ed school a must.

At the end of the day, the Prince and Princess of Wales must play a delicate balance between preparing George for his future role and making sure their other children still feel appreciated and heard.

"William and Kate must be acutely aware of the problems for a royal spare," former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror. "They have already shown that they have a different and modern attitude to bringing up royal children and I'm sure they will do everything to make Charlotte and Louis feel every bit as special, loved and valued as George."

Princess Diana had the same dilemma when it came to raising Prince William and Prince Harry, and although she used tactics like dressing her sons the same and insisting palace staff give them equal treatment, her former butler Paul Burrell recently told Marie Claire that "didn't happen."

"Diana often dressed William and Harry the same, in identical outfits," Burrell recalled. "The boys hated that, by the way, they didn’t want to be dressed the same, but this was Diana’s way of saying, both my boys are equal to me, they’re both wearing the same outfits."

In a Channel 5 documentary, the former butler shared a story that illustrated the different treatment Prince Harry received versus Prince William. "I heard one of the nannies say to William, 'I'm going to give you three sausages, William. You need to grow big and strong, because you're going to be king one day,'" Burrell recalled.

"Poor Harry's face across the table," he added. "I looked at him [and knew he was thinking], 'Why did you get three sausages and I got two?'" It's no surprise that Harry went on to title his memoir "Spare."

When it comes to Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, Bond noted that they might want to look to their great uncle Prince Edward's example, as the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip is a fellow "spare." While he struggled to find his place in the family at first, the Duke of Edinburgh has gone on to become one of the hardest working royals.

Speaking of Edward and his wife Duchess Sophie, the royal commentator said, "They have always been quietly devoted to their various causes, but their work has been overshadowed by other royals. I suppose every cloud has a silver lining...and as the King calls on them to take a more prominent role, Edward and Sophie are showing they are very much up to the task."

She pointed out the couple "serve as excellent role models to their great nephews and niece—showing that you can be a 'spare' or even a 'spare to the spare' and make a real success of working as a valued member of the Royal Family."

<![CDATA[ Blake Lively Reportedly Apologized to Taylor Swift for Involving Her in the Justin Baldoni Legal Dispute ]]> Taylor Swift is known for having famous friends—see: the "squad"—and one of the most notable and public relationships is with Blake Lively. After all, Swift is the godmother to Lively's children—the two are very close. But, according to reports, some tension arose between the women due to Lively's ongoing legal dispute with her It Ends with Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni. If true, this is understandable given that no one really wants to be part of an extremely public legal dispute that doesn't directly involve them. According to Page Six, though, Lively and Swift have now made up.

To quickly recap: Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December in which she claimed sexual harassment and retaliation; he then filed a lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist Leslie Sloane claiming defamation. There are also other related lawsuits and more detailed claims. Sloane has requested to be removed from the lawsuit. Baldoni, Lively, and Reynolds have denied the claims against them. A trial is scheduled to begin in March 2026.

How does Swift fit in? As reported by Page Six, Baldoni claimed that Lively tried to use Swift as leverage to get her preferences for a scene in the film approved. Lively supposedly invited Baldoni to her home where Swift and Reynolds allegedly praised Lively's vision. Baldoni allegedly texted Lively afterward, "I really love what you did. It really does help a lot. Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan or Taylor)." Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told TMZ in February that Swift could possibly be deposed.

In March, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, Swift "wasn’t happy with being brought into the legal mess." A source told Page Six that Swift felt "used" in the situation. Meanwhile, another source told Us Weekly, "There’s no truth that this has hurt their relationship. They are still close friends."

Now, a source claims that Lively has apologized to Swift.

"It was important to Blake to be on good terms again with Taylor," they told Page Six. "It was never her intention to hurt Taylor or cause any harm to their friendship. Blake missed their friendship and she hopes they can put this whole thing behind them." The source added that Swift felt the apology was "genuine and heartfelt" and that she "has no hard feelings and is ready to move forward."

So there you have it: Taylor Swift and Blake Lively are probably cool now, and possibly were fine all along.

<![CDATA[ Prince Harry’s Lawyer Says the Royal Felt "Forced to Step Back" From Royal Life Over Security Battle ]]> Prince Harry appeared at the Royal Courts of Justice in London on Tuesday, April 8 as the legal battle over his security arrangements in the U.K. continues—and according to his lawyer, the Duke of Sussex felt like he had no choice but to step away from royal duties due to the lack of police protection given to himself and his family.

During the hearing, Prince Harry's barrister, Shaheed Fatima KC, said the Duke of Sussex had been "singled out for different, unjustified and inferior treatment" in the court's original 2020 ruling removing his taxpayer-funded security. In February 2024, the High Court found that the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) had acted fairly in its decision denying him of police services in the U.K. However, Harry was given permission to challenge the earlier High Court ruling in May 2024.

"When Ravec made its February 2020 decision about the appellant's protective security, it did not apply its own terms of reference to that decision-making process," Fatima told the court, per the BBC.

She continued that "On January 8 2020, [the Duke of Sussex] and his wife felt forced to step back from the role of full-time official working members of the royal family as they considered they were not being protected by the institution, but they wished to continue their duties in support of the late Queen as privately funded members of the royal family."

According to the Mirror, barristers from the Home Office "decided that Harry would not be provided protective security 'on the same basis as before' due to him no longer being a working member of the royal family and living abroad most of the time." A source added that Ravec's rulings were made "on a 'case-by-case' basis."

However, Fatima told the court that the duke's "security does not appear to have been discussed at any formal Ravec meeting and there are no official notes or detailed minutes recording the approach to be taken to [his] security and the rationale for it."

In July 2024, the Duke of Sussex appeared in the documentary Tabloids on Trial, stating he didn't feel safe bringing his family to the U.K. without police protection. "It's still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read," he said. "And whether it's a knife or acid, whatever it is, and these are things that are of genuine concern for me, it's one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country."

Per the Mirror, the Duke of Sussex "brushed off any questions about King Charles" while entering the court on Tuesday. The King and Queen Camilla are currently on a state visit to Italy, with Their Highnesses set to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, April 9.

<![CDATA[ Madonna and Elton John Just Ended Their Decades-Long Feud After She "Confronted" Him ]]> A feud between two of the biggest pop musicians of all time has finally come to an end. After being at odds for over 20 years, Madonna and Elton John are all good, and there just might be a collaboration in their future. "Miserable cow", who?

On Monday, April 7, Madonna posted an Instagram that shows her and John posing together backstage at Saturday Night Live. In her lengthy caption, the Queen of Pop explains that she visited SNL to see John perform as the musical guest and to "confront him."

"We Finally Buried the Hatchet!!!" Madonna begins her post. She goes on explain that she has been a fan of John's and felt influenced by him ever since she was a teenager sneaking out of her home to go see him perform in Detroit.

"Over the decades it hurt me to know that someone I admired so much shared his dislike of me publicly as an artist," Madonna writes. "I didn’t understand it. I was told Elton John was the musical guest on SNL and I decided to go. I needed to go backstage and confront him."

But, when John saw Madonna, he immediately took the opportunity to apologize to her.

"When I met him, the first thing out of his mouth was, 'Forgive Me' and the wall between us fell down," Madonna recounts. "Forgiveness is a powerful tool." She says that "within minutes" they were hugging each other.

Madonna and John's feud extends back to the early 2000s. As reported by CBS News, in 2002, John dissed Madonna's song for the James Bond movie Die Another Day. In 2004, he claimed that she lip-syncs while he was giving a speech at the Q Awards. "That's me off her Christmas card list, but do I give a toss? No," the Rocket Man singer said.

The two then had a public back-and-forth that lasted years, with John sometimes commenting on the situation in interviews and Madonna giving statements via her publicist. The feud involved everything from them competing against each other for Best Original Song at the Golden Globes to John being rumored to have called Madonna a "miserable cow".

Suffice to say, they had a lot to get past, and it appears that they have done so at last. John reposted Madonna's Instagram to his own Instagram story and added, "A healing moment @madonna" with a red heart emoji. He also left a comment on the "Vogue" singer's post, writing in part, "Thank you for forgiving me and my big mouth. I'm not proud of what I said. Particularly when I think about all the groundbreaking work you have done as an artist - paving the way for an entire generation of female artists to succeed and be true to themselves." He also praises Madonna for speaking up about HIV/AIDS in the 1980s.

The two musicians could even end up working together. In her post, Madonna writes, "He told me had written a song for me and he wanted to collaborate." In his comment, John shares, "Both you and I have wholeheartedly been accepted and embraced by communities who are under threat around the world. By pulling together, I'm hopeful that we can make great things happen for those who really need support. And have a lot of fun doing it!!" Their fans will surely be waiting!

<![CDATA[ Meghan Markle Reveals "Scary" Post-Birth Health Battle in First Episode of New Podcast ]]> Meghan Markle is back in the podcast game, having launched her second podcast, "Confessions of a Female Founder," on Tuesday, April 8. The Lemonada Media production features the Duchess of Sussex interviewing female entrepreneurs in a variety of industries, and during the first episode—featuring Meghan's close friend Whitney Wolfe Herd—she revealed a terrifying personal story along with her insights on building a business.

The duchess shared that Herd, who founded dating app Bumble, is one of her "closest friends" and has been instrumental in giving her advice as she's built her new lifestyle brand, As ever. The two first met at a New Year's Eve party at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's home, and have since bonded over motherhood and business.

"We both had very similar experiences—though we didn't know each other at the time—with postpartum, and we both had preeclampsia," the duchess said. "Postpartum preeclampsia. It's so rare and so scary."

Meghan continued, "And you're still trying to juggle all of these things, and the world doesn't know what's happening quietly. And in the quiet, you're still trying to show up for people, and in the quiet, you're still just trying to show up mostly for your children—but those things are huge medical scares."

"I mean life or death, truly," Wolfe Herd chimed in. Although the duchess didn't elaborate on which child she experienced the health scare with, the condition causes new mothers to experience high blood pressure and excess protein in the urine and can be potentially deadly.

Speaking of new motherhood, the Bumble CEO—who is the mom of two sons—shared how she felt when she saw the photos of the Duchess of Sussex during her 2019 newborn photocall with Prince Archie.

"I mean, I'll never forget the image of you after you delivered Archie, and the whole world was waiting for his debut," she said. "I was either just becoming or about to become a new mom, and I was like, 'Oh my God, how is this woman doing this?"

"How is this woman putting on heels and going and debuting a child in this, you know, beautiful outfit in front of the entire world?'" Wolfe Herd continued, causing Meghan to laugh when she added, "I could barely face a doorbell delivery for takeout food in a robe. I was like, 'Please don't look at me! Leave it down the street.'"

When it comes to her kids Archie and Lilibet, Meghan said the ability to work from home was key. "Lili still naps, she gets picked up early and she naps, she only has a half day in preschool," she said. "If she wakes up and she wants to find me, she knows where to find me, even if my door is closed to the office."

"She'll be sitting there on my lap during one of these meetings with a grid of all the executives," the Duchess of Sussex continued. "I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't want to miss those moments. I don't want to miss pickup if I don't have to. I don't want to miss drop-off.”

<![CDATA[ Selena Gomez Gives a Candid Look at Her and Benny Blanco's Life in New Instagram Pics ]]> In her latest Instagram post, Selena Gomez gave fans a look at her relationship with Benny Blanco. And if you ignore some of the details, their lives are pretty normal. He visits her at work! They FaceTime when they're apart! They lounge around on the sofa together! That said, what they're actually up to while all of these things go down is a bit different than what most people are used to. For instance, visiting Gomez at works means hanging out with three-time Oscar-winner Meryl Streep. Details, details.

On Saturday, April 5, Gomez posted a series of photos that she captioned, "a few memories…" with a pink heart emoji. There's a couple selfies and just some various snaps from her work life and personal life, including a few that show some more relaxed moments with Blanco.

Gomez and Blanco recently released their album, I Said I Love You First, so the engaged couple have been sharing a lot about their relationship in interviews together. The new photos give followers another look at their connection, from Blanco showing off an all-white suit on a FaceTime call with Gomez to the music producer lounging on a couch with a laptop and the singer laying on a sofa surrounded by the records she and Blanco had to sign.

There's also a photo of Blanco with members of the Only Murders in the Building cast, including Streep, Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Paul Rudd, as well as director Steven Spielberg.

But while they attend glamorous events, hang out with A-list stars, and have work that includes signing albums and doing photoshoots, Blanco and Gomez have said that they're really homebodies. In a February joint interview with Interview magazine, they said that they don't like going out to clubs, and prefer game nights, dinners with friends, and hanging out at home.

"[W]e call it sitting soft. I want to sit soft and just relax and play games and laugh," Blanco explained. Gomez continued, "I will say, we love going to friends’ homes … we are big on going to people’s homes, supper, food. That’s kind of our vibe." Her fiancé added, "We love a cozy date. We love going for walks. Just normal shit."

Normal shit mixed with visiting the set of Emmy-winning TV shows, of course.

<![CDATA[ Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis Set to Make a Historic May Appearance ]]> Prince William and Princess Kate have been careful to keep their kids out of the spotlight, only bringing them to select royal events throughout the year. It's a given that fans will see Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis at Trooping the Colour each June, at their mom's annual Christmas carol concert and on the Dec. 25 walk to church. But other than Easter Sunday and perhaps a Wimbledon outing, the public doesn't often get to see the kids. This year that will change, as the royal trio is reported to be joining their family for a major royal appearance.

Per the Mirror, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, will appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony to honor the 80th anniversary of VE Day, which marked the end of World War II in Europe on May 8, 1945. The children will be joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales, The King, Queen Camilla and other members of the Royal Family to watch a parade and military flypast to celebrate the occasion.

The publication reported that the Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie will be attending along with their children Lady Louise and James, Earl of Wessex. Princess Anne and her husband Tim Laurence are also schedule to appear on the balcony, with the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Duke of Kent marked as potential guests.

The major balcony appearance will mark a royal first when it comes to celebrating VE Day. To mark the 50th anniversary of WWII's end in 1995, just three people appeared outside the palace: The Queen Mother and her daughters Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret, all of whom had been there on VE Day in 1945.

And for the 60th and 70th anniversaries, the Royal Family didn't make a balcony appearance at all.

This year, the U.K. will host several days of commemorations to honor the 80th anniversary of VE Day beginning Monday, May 5, which is a bank holiday in the U.K., and ending Thursday, May 8. A spectacular military procession will travel through London to Buckingham Palace on the 5th, followed by a flypast featuring historic aircraft and the Red Arrows display team.

Per the BBC, "a party on the warship HMS Belfast, on the Thames, and street parties around the country" will also take place on May 5. Other events include a special installation of ceramic poppies at the Tower of London, a concert at Westminster Hall, a service at Westminster Abbey and "a concert for 10,000 members of the public."

<![CDATA[ Princess Diana Lost Her Temper in a Relatable Mom Moment Caught on Camera: "Shush!" ]]> Unlike some of the royals who came before her, Princess Diana was known for her warm, hands-on approach to motherhood. She famously broke tradition by choosing her sons' schools to be closer to home and giving them a taste of "normal" life by taking them on public outings (and even letting them eat burgers and pizza). While Prince Charles didn't get to enjoy such freedom in his own childhood, Diana wanted Prince William and Prince Harry to experience theme parks and go to McDonald's like any other kids in the U.K. Although the late royal insisted on a more permissive parenting style and loved to stuff her kids' pockets with candy, even she reached her breaking point sometimes.

Diana is seen sitting for a formal interview at her Kensington Palace home in a clip shared on Instagram. She closes her eyes and sighs, then turns and gives her kids—who are off camera—a stern look before saying, "If you come in here, you sit down and be quiet! Very quiet."

The princess tries to go back to her interview, barely starting a sentence before Prince Harry starts laughing in the background. "Harry, shush!" Diana says before grimacing and telling the interviewer, "I can't even string my words together." He quips, "Well, it's very hard. You've got two of the most impossible people sitting here with us."

But before Diana can continue, you hear a young William hilariously telling his brother to shut up. "Exactly. Harry, shush!" he says, with his mom chiming in, "Sit. Down. Just sit! Just sit."

The moment is over in seconds, but it's a flash of something every parent recognizes: the eternal struggle to stay composed when your child is acting up. Fans jumped in to praise the princess for keeping her cool and being so relatable, like one who wrote, "She's a mum of boys that's next level 😂."

"Omg she’s just like a normal mama! She’s so real!! This is why Diana is the queen of hearts ♥️" another added, while a third commenter wrote, "Love her “uh” and eye roll in the beginning of the video. Mums can relate 😂❤️."

At the end of the day, the clip serves as a reminder that Diana was, at times, just like any mom juggling work and kids (while getting just a bit annoyed in the process).

<![CDATA[ An Unexpected Member of the Royal Family Is Said to Have Inspired a Disney Movie Character ]]> When Sleeping Beauty premiered in 1959, audiences were swept away by the dashing Prince Philip, the first Disney prince to actually have a name. Unlike The Prince in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, the animated film featured a prince with a more robust personality (and one who had numerous lines). But royal watchers and Disney fans have long claimed that Prince Philip might have had a real muse: Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.

At the time, the duke—who died at the age of 99 in April 2021—was one of the most famous princes in the world, especially to American audiences. Married to Queen Elizabeth since 1947, he had become a familiar figure in newsreels and magazines across the pond. With a commanding presence and adventurous spirit, the royal figure certainly would have made an ideal candidate for Disney animators looking for a more modern and active prince.

While Disney has never officially confirmed the link, it certainly seems like a curious coincidence given the popularity of the glamorous young couple at the time. Speaking to Virgin Radio, Sarah Dunnigan of the University of Edinburgh stated that the idea made sense "due to the huge popularity and idealization of the British royal family in America in the late 1950s."

Beyond the name, the animated Prince Philip was a far cry from the silent princes of earlier Disney films. He slays a dragon and defies his father for the love of Princess Aurora, echoing the real-life duke's reputation for independence and action.

Although the Sleeping Beauty character lives in a 14th-century fantasy world, his namesake was very much a modern man. The late Duke of Edinburgh served as a naval officer before standing by his wife's side as consort—although he carried out his duties with a flair for breaking tradition. It was Philip who was instrumental in convincing the palace to let The Queen's coronation be broadcast on television, an idea that was unheard of at the time. He was also instrumental in modernizing many aspects of the royal household.

More than 60 years later, it's a fitting bit of royal trivia that the man who stood beside Britain's longest-reigning monarch may also have inspired one of Disney's most heroic princes.

<![CDATA[ Prince William and Princess Kate Have Broken Tradition With This "Natural Development" in Terms of Their Public Life ]]> Prince William and Princess Kate have always made it clear that they'll be carving out their roles on their own terms whenever possible. Whether that's taking selfies with fans or prioritizing time with their kids above everything, the Prince and Princess of Wales are making their own royal rules. According to royal expert Gareth Russell, the couple has also broken from tradition when it comes to one particular way they interact with the public.

Speaking to GB News, the commentator said that unlike the more "formal" ways of Queen Elizabeth and King Charles, the prince and princess like to share insights into their home life and "sweet" anecdotes about Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

Whether it's Prince William sharing how George loves scuba diving lessons or the Princess of Wales dishing on the big secret Prince Louis kept to surprise his sister, the couple frequently tell stories about their kids to the people they meet.

"I don't think there's any tactic behind it, I think it's genuinely that the Prince and Princess of Wales are involved and affectionate parents," Russell told the outlet. "All of those stories that they tell are clearly being told by involved and loving parents, and sometimes they're quite funny, and sometimes they're quite sweet."

"It's just more common today to share these kinds of anecdotes publicly, whereas maybe 30, 40, 50, 60 years ago, things were just generally more formal," Russell continued.

Although King Charles and his mother, Queen Elizabeth, might have kept their family stories more private, Russell pointed out that the Prince of Wales "wants to do things a little bit differently."

"I think it's quite a natural development, and also it shows how comfortable William and Catherine are in conversation with people," he added.

Prince William has also showed his desire to do things his own way when it comes to his legal counsel. Last week, it was reported that the Prince of Wales has broken from royal tradition and left The King's preferred law firm in favor of Mischcon de Raya, the firm Princess Diana used for her high-profile divorce.

"William wanted to strike out on his own," a source told the Daily Mail, adding, "He did not want to continue using his father’s lawyers. It’s as simple as that. He wants to be his own man."

<![CDATA[ According to a New Update, King Charles Seems Unwilling to Heed Queen Camilla's Health Advice ]]> King Charles and Queen Camilla touched down in Rome for the start of their anticipated state visit to Italy on Monday, April 7. And while many wondered if the trip would be postponed due to His Majesty's health scare in late March, The King is moving full steam ahead—a decision that, according to several royal commentators, likely isn't well received by The Queen.

King Charles was briefly hospitalized due to side effects from his ongoing cancer treatment on March 27 and was forced to cancel his royal duties for the rest of that week. He returned to work on Tuesday, April 1 after a relaxing weekend at Highgrove House, with sources calling the health incident a "bump in the road." Queen Camilla is said to be the only person who can talk sense into her husband regarding taking it slow and minding his health, but royal sources told the Mirror that Charles will "put duty before everything."

“Italy was never in doubt, but what His Majesty’s break [at Highgrove] did do was allow him to take a breather and slow down if only for a couple of days," a royal source told the outlet. Queen Camilla has long been advising her husband to take more time to recover during his treatments, but it seems that The King—a known workaholic—is determined to carry on as usual.

"Everyone has seen in recent days that he is in great form and completely unfazed by his recent setback, if anything both His Majesty and the Queen are even more excited to be getting on the road again," the insider added.

During the new episode of the Sun's "Royal Exclusive" show, royal commentator Phil Dampier said The King needs to cut back on his "ridiculous" schedule. "Camilla is forever telling him to slow down. She'd like him to pace himself. She'd like him to take it easy, but he's just got this work ethic," he shared.

Dampier continued that the days of "working late into the night and literally falling asleep at his desk" are "probably" over, but even though The King "likes being busy," he "needs to curtail that sort of ridiculous workload."

News commentator Samara Gill chimed in that The King "is very needed right now" due to world affairs. "And he's so stoic. I almost forgot that he was battling cancer the past year because he's been out there shaking hands and doing what he does best."

However, she added, "I think that William is probably going to need to start getting ready, let's just say, for the incoming position. I know that he's been doing that his entire life."

The King and Queen's visit to Italy will take place over their 20th wedding anniversary on April 9, but the Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson shared that it was going to be business as usual that day. "I've looked at the itinerary. He's doing a speech at the Senate, he's meeting the President or the Prime Minister. He's got a state banquet. His whole day is just packed full of work."

“Poor old Camilla. She just wants to celebrate her 20th wedding anniversary," Wilkinson added.

<![CDATA[ Australian Actors You Probably Thought Were American ]]> Plenty of Australian actors have hit in big in America—and as many of them have noted, that means cultivating an American accent to be more marketable in Hollywood. That's impressive in its own right, given that Australian accents are very different from American ones—which means that, as you'll see, a lot of work goes into the process. Ahead, Australian accents you probably, definitely thought were American.

Sam Worthington

australian - Sam Worthington

Technically, Sam Worthington still sounds a bit Australian in Avatar. (Fans love to point out where you can hear his natural accent poke through, and Worthington has admitted he struggled with learning the accent.) But his "American" was vastly better in Under the Banner of Heaven!

Abbie Cornish

australian - Abbie Cornish

For 2012's The Girl, Abbie Cornish had to master a Texan accent—and utilized language studies and an accent coach. She even learned Spanish! Since then, we've heard her faux American accent in lots of shows and movies, including Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan.

Isla Fisher

australian - Isla Fisher

Technically Isla Fisher's parents are Scottish, but she was born in Oman and raised in Australia. While many of us marveled at her flawless accent in Confessions of a Shopaholic, her most well-known American role is Gloria from Wedding Crashers. "I'll find you!!"

Ryan Kwanten

australian - ryan kwanten

That's right, Jason Stackhouse from True Blood is an Aussie! Ryan Kwanten worked with a voice coach to obtain the Southern drawl and then reportedly tried to maintain the accent the whole time he was on set. It totally worked—I never would have guessed.

Josh Lawson

australian - josh lawson

The House of Lies, Superstore, and Mortal Kombat star told Latin Times, “I got to be honest, ever since I was a little kid...I would just stare at the screen and just look at sitcoms like Golden Girls and Cheers and Family Ties and I would emulate the American accent just growing up...I was just an 'Americaphile' since I was a kid. I just sort of loved the syntax and the cadence of the American accent.”

Alex O'Loughlin

australian - Alex O'Loughlin

You may have caught Alex O'Loughlin on the role he played for a decade: Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett on the Hawaii Five-0 remake. He actually started working as an actor while still a teenager in Australia, but his American breakout was The Shield in 2007.

Jacki Weaver

australian - Jacki Weaver

Jacki Weaver has a flawless Philadelphian accent in Silver Linings Playbook, and it came from hard work: she worked with a coach, but she also met and interacted with some of Bradley Cooper's relatives from the city. She immersed herself in the culture, too, which really paid off.

Sarah Snook

australian - Sarah Snooke

Shiv Roy from Succession: not actually American! Sarah Snook had to learn British and American accents early on in her career, and she's said that once she got on set the accent felt easy to replicate. (Fun fact: her Succession husband, Matthew Macfadyen, is British!)

Jason Clarke

australian - Jason Clarke

Jason Clarke has acted "American" in a lot of movies (including in the Terminator and Planet of the Apes franchises, not to mention Zero Dark Thirty!). He made many, many Australian television appearances before crossing over to the States in the 2010s.

Miranda Otto

australian - Miranda Otto

Technically, you probably know Miranda Otto from her (British) accent work in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. But she's actually Australian! And she's blessed us with a great American accent before, from 24: Legacy to The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Mia Wasikowska

australian - mia wasikowska

Mia Wasikowska has admitted that she was a bit of a mimic as a kid, and (thanks to the predominance of American films and TV shows in Australia), it wasn't hard to pick up an American accent. Both her British and American accents are top-notch, to be honest.

Jai Courtney

australian - Jai Courtney

Of his American accent, Jai Courtney credits good voice training, primarily. He's also said that he stays in it (like a few others on this list)—living in that voice for the day and only "coming out" when he goes home. He's been living in the U.S. for a while, which helps.

Rachel Griffiths

australian - Rachel Griffiths

If you were wowed by Rachel Griffiths' performance in Six Feet Under, consider how tough it must have been to conceal her Australian accent! Technically, lots of us knew and loved her in Muriel's Wedding, so we had a sense of her real accent all along.

Joel Edgerton

australian - Joel Edgerton

In an interview with Collider discussing his upcoming movie at the time (The Thing prequel), Edgerton noted that it was less the accent work and more the stunts that were challenging for him: "We don’t get a lot of action movies because there’s not a budget for it, so there’d never be a movie with this much action in it in Australia. So I actually enjoy the days where I just come to work and strap on a flamethrower and dive behind a pool table and do all that stuff."

Hugo Weaving

australian - Hugo Weaving

Hugo Weaving's done an American accent more than once, but his over-enunciated Mr. Smith in The Matrix movies was deliberately meant to be inaccurate. "Smith's a construct. So I thought I had license to be, in a way, slightly otherworldly or, as I said at the time, like a [news anchor]. There's a certain measure and a certain enunciation that comes with reading the news, and I thought that would be right for Smith because his voice would have been constructed to be a human being," he told Men's Health.

Rebel Wilson

australian - Rebel Wilson

Rebel Wilson told Jimmy Fallon her secret to getting into an American accent: use a lot more of your face muscles! (When she's speaking in her native accent, she barely uses her face at all.) Granted, you've probably heard Wilson's Australian accent, as she uses it in some film roles.

Eric Bana

australian - Eric Bana

Eric Bana started professionally with an Australian sketch-comedy series and worked in his nation's film industry for a decade. His big American breakout was Black Hawk Down (2001) and then subsequently Hulk (2003)—and now he has acted often in an American accent.

Simon Baker

australian - Simon Baker

Simon Baker is particularly well-known for perfecting his American accent on screen. Fans of The Mentalist were shocked to hear him in his native accent, but let us not forget his great work in both L.A. Confidential (1997) and The Devil Wears Prada (2006).

Samara Weaving

australian - Samara Weaving

Huge Weaving's niece is also a talented actor in her own right—and a very convincing on-screen American to boot (her father is British and her mother is Maltese, and she also grew up in Singapore, Fiji, and Indonesia). To learn "American" for Nine Perfect Strangers, Weaving says she immersed herself in American influencer culture!

Guy Pearce

australian - Guy Pearce

Guy Pearce has said his mimicry helped get him in the door for auditions in the US. "When people in Hollywood first heard me, they said, 'You've got to lose that accent because you'll never work in this town'...So I thought, 'I'll just put on an American accent when I go to meetings with them.' So I used to go in and say, 'Hey, how are you doing?' and make the 'r' sound. At the end of the meeting, they would say, 'You know, for an Aussie, you don't have much of an accent.'"

Naomi Watts

australian - Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts has a fascinating mix of accents (she was born in Britain but moved to Australia when she was 14). She worked in Australia and then had her breakout in the US with Mulholland Drive after many years of work. She has said that she works very hard on the accents but she doesn't "stay in it" while she's on set all day.

Ben Mendelsohn

australian - Ben Mendelsohn

While his more villainous roles are often done in a British accent, Ben Mendelsohn has a good range of American accents as well. He has spoken to the value of practice and muscle memory, often tailoring an accent to a particular role (like a Floridian accent in Bloodline).

Russell Crowe

australian - Russell Crowe

Russell Crowe has said that he sometimes takes months to fully develop an accent. He's told British GQ that he really cares about accent work and that when others in the industry don't care as much as he does (or don't put in as much work), it frustrates him.

Rose Byrne

australian - Rose Byrne

Rose Byrne's American accent is always top-notch, and she's shared some of her secrets. She told Jimmy Fallon that, while she was on the show Damages, she used a line that became her "baseline phrase" to help her get into it: "Patty hired 24-hour security for Katie."

Jacob Elordi

australian - jacob elordi

Jacob Elordi did a little acting work in Australia as a teen, but he set his sights on America (the place and the accent) early. Speaking to GQ, he said, “I think I just wanted to be able to mimic the people that I thought were cool." Like who, you might ask? Vin Diesel!

Hugh Jackman

australian - Hugh Jackman

To become Wolverine, Hugh Jackman worked with a dialect coach; he also borrowed from Johnny Depp, who said in an interview he used a sentence that contains every vowel and consonant change for a new accent. "'How many times have you asked Sam whether or not his daughter has congenital disorders' or something like that," Jackman noted.

Nicole Kidman

australian - Nicole Kidman

Born in Hawaii and growing up in Australia, Nicole Kidman was exposed to different accents from a young age. She has said she works hard on her accent work; in her Nine Perfect Strangers, she maintained her Russian-American accent during the entirety of filming.

Toni Collette

australian - Toni Collette

Unless you were familiar with Toni Collette in Muriel's Wedding, you might not know Toni Collette is actually Australian. She's said she doesn't like working with dialect coaches because it makes her nervous, but for specific dialects she utilizes their help.

Heath Ledger

australian - Heath Ledger

The late Heath Ledger gave us his natural accent in the iconic 10 Things I Hate About You, but he also pulled off incredible American accents in films like Brokeback Mountain and The Dark Knight. A dialect coach notes how, in the former, Ledger keeps his face and jaw stiff to mirror the repression in his character.

Margot Robbie

australian - Margot Robbie

Barbie is an Aussie! Margot Robbie has worked with dialect coaches but also looks to unusual places: she studied the monologue from Legally Blonde for her role in Bombshell. To play the iconic doll, she's said she chose a generic accent that becomes more "human" throughout the film.

Chris Hemsworth

australian - Chris Hemsworth

Chris Hemsworth worked with a dialect coach in Australia to master the American accent. Taking on roles in the US helped him nail the sound; his most well-known character (Thor from the MCU) is British, but you can still catch him as a faux American in a bunch of roles.

Cate Blanchett

australian - Cate Blanchett

Largely considered one of the best actors of her generation, Cate Blanchett says that her training at a young age helped her obtain a flexibility and malleability, both in voice and in personality. She says she views her voice as a tool, and she does a lot of research for the role's specificity.
